This is my 3rd Medieval house design, this house was created as an application for the Creative-Node server.

In this house I wanted to carry on with this 'Hyren' series and thought that I should make it for my application, as with my other buildings I have used the same roof style which is loosely inspired by Nordic, Oriental and Steampunk styles, but has a fantasy element built in.

If you have checked out the last Medieval House I created, you will see that the window design is very similar, the reason for this is that I thought I could probably do a neater and a much nicer version of it. This building however is approx. 2-3 times larger that the other 2 Medieval houses and because of this I have been able to add alot more detail (Ladders, Stairs, Pistons, Buttons and Trapdoors).

With this Medieval House I decided that making different layers of roofing and having those different roof sizes sticking out would really make it feel alot more 'realistic' and alot less '3-Dimensional'.

One of my subscribers, Onyx_Wyvern has given me many great idea's for builds, one of which I really liked was a boat/ship, however I have never built a ship in Minecraft so it may be a challenge, but it's something which I think this roof design could really work well with :)

If you have time please leave a comment down in the comments on any feedback you can give because it really helps me improve and I love hearing what you guys have to say.

Thank You for looking at my build, if you liked it and want to see more give a Diamond and/or Subscribe :)
See you next time :)

I have added the schematic of the build. The issue is it has a mountain on it too. If you would like me to take that off please PM me and I will fix it as soon as I can.

Complete Redo : 02/14/2013 5:14:46 pm2/14/13

COMPLETE REDO of the entire building. A whole new exterior, I stripped out the interior and redid it. The build will have a Schematic soon. I will post the new images and keep the old ones so that you can compare.

Interior : 11/17/2012 7:10:22 pm11/17/12

Interior is finally complete, kitchen, living room, recreational area, all it needs now is a garden. New Schem should be up tommorow.

INTERIOR AND TERRAFORMING!!!! : 08/20/2012 3:59:53 pm8/20/12

Currently adding a better interior and working on some TERRAFORMING! (unlucky my WE isn't working for me)

I like this, but the lower awnings, they look almost organic? Epic, whatever.

It's great to hear stuff like this because your understanding my thought process, that was one my earlier builds on MC and I tried hard to mix different styles which I was learning at the time, organics and structural builds always influence in my builds to a certain extent. My roof in this design was inspired by the movement I had seen in organics, that was what inspired the curve, the lower awnings had the same thought process, but I executed it differently. Thank You for the comment, it's great to have a comment like this where I can give a long and detailed reply :D

Cool, Just a random thought; but have you ever tried to make a literally organic house, as in one where the walls are, say, made of skin membrane and the supports are bone (or something of the like?) I say this because you say you take inspiration from organics, and I would be interested to see something like that done.

That is the most AMAZING idea ever! In was looking for an original idea for a build because i'm currently working on a huge Colonial building which you should definitely look out for. I think the idea of having a kind of 'scary' house made from human tissue and what not would be a challenge, but challenges make people think and that's just what I want to do :) Please look out for this skin and membrane house in the future because it's definitely an idea I will pursue.

I'd try to hav something, like a dragonhead or whatever, to support the roof. It looks heavy.

I totally agree about supporting the roof mate, dragon head? How would the head support the roof, if you can tell me I can probably try it out and see if it looks good or not. Thank You for the comment man :)

A dragon head sculpture or beam or something going from the wall up to the roof.

Haha to be honest I used to be a huge Harry Potter fan and still have all the books, I think that Harry Potter will always have some sought of influence on my builds as will many other books and movies which have inspired me throughout the years. Thank You for this really nice comment my friend :)

No worries :) and I like harry potter as well :)  and i love the architecture in Harry Potter as well (even though most of it is CGI), so its always good to see people reconstructing it on Minecraft. Keep it up. :)

main roof doesnt look as if its been supported, and no interior is like -1. Other than that nice build

It wasn't aimed at being supported, I had a comment quite similar to this before, about the roof support so I tested out different ways of doing it however it loses that kind of fantasy elven feel whenever I tried so I left it at that. There is an interior, I haven't shown any pictures because not the best though, I am planning on working on it in the next few days though :)

Thank You for this feedback, every little helps me get better :)

It's more fantasy than medieval :D Its too high to be medieval building, and also that roof is way too big :D

I have to agree with you, but this is mixed with a fantasy element, without those defining features the building wouldn't have the same character that it has, but ye I do agree that the roof is abit too large :)

Yes the roof is very exagerated and more or less 'fantasy style' but i don't agree with Kaspisss on 'Too high for medieval building' ... working irl (historical restauration) on such medieval town buildings with 4 or 5 floors. Not rare in France and Flander. The medieval building with only 1 or 2 floors is a myth that have a hard skin ! I would love to contribute to exterminate this mistake.

I am famous now...today planet minecraft...tomorrow, THE WORLD.

On a slightly less "take over the world" note, as usual nice submission, I would really like to see you get out of your comfort zone and see if you can bring this style into something not as square...but it is WAY GOOD don't get me wrong and I'm sure your application will be accepted.  I like that you have schematic on this one so tempting to put a few of these to make a Hyren village in one of my worlds.  Though with 1.3 and the larger biomes coming out probably tomorrow I think I am going to wait, and find a nice large Mushroom biome to put these in.

I totally agree with getting out of my comfort zone and try more interesting shapes, but this build had to be like this because it was on a plot on the Creative-Node server (which I am now a builder on WOOP!) I will deffinitly make something interesting for my next build, I was thinking a boat because it is a field of building I have neglected to learn and would like to take on.

You should deffinately apply to the creative-node server mate :)
Hope to hear from you soon :)
