Ireland 2066

Built as a part of the MindRising 2016 project, Ireland 2066 is a futuristic vision of what a city could look like in 50 years time. The project includes a number of Ireland's most famous landmarks, and sits them beside modern urban concepts and ecological technologies such as vertical farms, automated public transported and energy parks.

MindRising 2016 is a competition celebrating 200 years of the island of Ireland. MindRising champions the use of digital technology in schools & groups. MindRising is about telling stories about our past and our future. Teams will work on their digital storytelling skills across a range of media which includes building elements of their projects in Minecraft. They are encouraged to remember the past 100 years and imagine what the next 100 years could bring.

Truly epic and outstanding build, I really hope Ireland looks like this in 2066.

I know that what you've built will never happen in the real Ireland though because Ireland for some reason has a tradition of keeping up with the history stuff and history buildings, but who knows, maybe all that will change.

Epic work again Blockworks ;)

I really love these kinds of things. Where you have historical buildings, but have them placed in a futuristic setting ^.^

Just so you know, "infamous" applies being famous for bad reasons. Famous means well-known for good reasons lol. The "in-" is a prefix that applies negativity... I highly doubt you purposefully built landmarks known for terrible, sickly reasons...

Thanks for spotting! The Dublin GPO and Castle do actually have rather troubled histories, but poor choice of word nontheless that we'll change.

I dunno man, I don't think the parties will be willing to undertake a project of this size for completion in 50 years. We couldn't even get the LUAS right :-/

But in all seriousness, looks great, good work.
