ARRIVAL at the HOMESTEAD
You awaken, startled. You are relieved to see the comforts of you Hot-Air Balloon, but something is not quite right. Gone are the biting winds of the Pole, and, instead of snowflakes, soft sunlight streams into the basket. You get up and peek over the edge. Below you is a beautiful bay surrounded by cliffs. Nestled inside is a quaint little village~ golden fields of grain, houses, a dock. You attention, however, is drawn to the mansion perched atop an impossible overhang. Mesmerized, you wonder how on earth you're going to get down. You step onto the edge of the basket and see a wooden platform not 5 metres below you. You jump down and splash into a pool of water. Sitting nearby is a frail old man, whom you approach.
"Where am I?" You ask him kindly.
"Where am I? You, good sir, are in the Homestead! Home to Lady Maelstromme, center for trade, and, most of all~ your new home!"
You thank the old man, and, determined, descend the stairs to your new life.
HISTORY of the HOMESTEAD
Lady Isadora Maelstromme, exploratrice extraordinaire. Why, she was a character! Born in 1802, she practically grew up at the British Museum. Surrounded by the wonders of our world, she resolved that as an adult she would travel to every country known to man. And so she did! At age fifty (which was very old back then) she was still at full steam. Finally, in 1867, she retired from her life of adventure. She moved to London, but grew so bored that she was tempted to rekindle her flame. Her good husband Lord Maelstromme steered her away from that daunting thought and instead suggested that she establish a rest stop for those following in her footsteps. He gave to her a huge area of land, and she decided to build a place of serenity, beauty, and equality (though only she had a mansion). And thus the Maelstromme Homestead was created, and it quickly grew into a bustling yet tranquil village.
Okey-dokey! Story-telling is done.
Here I present the Homestead, a sort of Steampunk/Medieval town in a stunning cliff area (see below for seed).

- 1 Bakery
- 1 Wind-Mill
- 2 wheat fields
- 1 mine, with carts/caves full of Diamonds, Emeralds, Iron, and Gold.
- 1 Aero Dock
- 1 Hot-Air Balloon, design courtesy of Xylvion
- 1 Forest with a hunting party cabin/lumberjack cabin
