Hello everyone!
Heres a tutorial of how to make your first texture pack!
This can also be good as help for other texture makers, but its mostly for new ones :)

We are going to do a 32x32 Grass block, in photoshop cs5! If you follow all the steps youre good, also take help from the pics!

´´Why is this not a blog post?´´ Because, I see this more like an project, + Im having problems with uploading pictures on blog posts, wich could be a problem :P

____________________________________________________________________________________________

1. First, make a 32x32 picture and fill it in with a dirt color that fits you :)

2.Now shade it randomly with the brush tool, darker and darker. Here I used 8 pixels

3.Now open up Filter-Distort-Wave. Choose everything on minimum, except of the scale, let that be as it was when you opened it up the first time :P

4.Now pick the pencil tool and choose 3 pixels (best for this tutorial). Pick a green, pretty light, color and just paint a little bit grass on top of the dirt :P

5.Now just choose 1 pixels and make the corners more good-looking :D

6.Now, Pick the brush tool, and a bit darker green, then do as in the picture ;)

7.Now pick a really dark dirt color and shade the dirt under the grass, for a more 3d-affected and nicer looking grass block
Dont forget to use the brush tool!

8.Now to the last part, this is only if you want to :) Make some cool grasslooking stripes on top of the grass you made just green, that will make it look more like real grass!
Do this with the brush tool for best effect :D

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Now your grassblock is officially done! If you want the dirt to melt togeather perfectly with the grass, then just pick step 3 as dirt ;)
Hope this tutorial was helpful! Favorite for more, and be sure to subscribe if so, so you dont miss it ;) Also leave a diamond if you really liked this!

Bye!!! And, enjoy your new grass :D

[Sorry if the pictures is a little bit too small :/]

What about tiling errors? You should cover that so the blocks don't look like they don't fit ^.^

I like your explanations though!

Tiling is pretty much when a block has a certain texture (like your dirt) and it doesn't look nice in-game when put next to another of the same block. To check it, you can copy your block three times and put it in a 2x2 pattern.

From there, you see what is wrong with the pattern and fix it up. Sometimes it's just a lighting issue, other times it's a piece out of place. But by tiling it, you can check what you need to fix. Good texture pack artists always check every block they make tiles, before uploading.

Hope I helped ;D

No problem! And alot of people will see it if you advertise it on the chat every once in a while. People always click on other links there.

Hmm, it might be a network issue. Always save your work on MS word, then disconnect from your internet, then reconnect. Then paste your work again and retry. If I'm wrong, try asking some people on the chat, they might know.

Chat's good for everything :D And the forums too.

In that case, your best bet is to either use another internet browser (like firefox, IE, Google Chrome, etc) or PM Paril.
