This is my largest project in Minecraft. Its a full scale (1:1) recreation of Minas Tirith from The Lord of the Rings.

The structure is over 300 blocks wide and 255 blocks tall on a superflat world. The white tower (on the top of the 7th level) should be 305 blocks above the ground but it will have to remain cut off due to Minecraft's height restriction.

So far, all of the levels are in place and the housing is complete on half of the first level as well as some parts of other levels. Numerous other towers on the other levels are put in as well. The mountains behind the castle are also in place.

The entire castle is not yet available for download, but you can get the throne room here http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/minas-tirith---throne-room/

Such a shame this went to waste, I would do anything to be able to get a download. Good luck if you ever return, though.

this is far from 1:1 scale
it's impossible to make it 1:1 scale in minecraft since the height level is 256 meters. each level of Minas tirith is 30 meters which gives: 210 meters and then comes the tower of Ecthelion which is more than 46 meters. it's actually 91 meters. also the mountain behind minas Tirith would be much taller.
when all that is said you can also see that each level is way too small.
i am so tired of noobs who keep claiming their builds is 1:1 scale
and if you begin to say you meant it was 100% accurate i have to laugh.

when all that is said it's a pretty good version of Minas Tirtih in Minecraft and it's probably the best so far.

If you actually read what I wrote in the description, you'll notice how I said "The white tower (on the top of the 7th level) should be 305 blocks above the ground but it will have to remain cut off due to Minecraft's height restriction."
I know that its not as tall as it should be, but that's not due to a reduced scale. It's still 1:1, it's just missing the full height of the white tower on top.

You are correct about the height of each level being approximately 30m (although some are slightly larger and some are slightly smaller). Both of your references (as well as a number of comments on the extended edition DVD extras) confirm that the overall height of the city is 700ft to the top of the 7th level. 700ft = 213m, and that's EXACTLY how tall it is to the 7th level on my recreation. As you said earlier, I would need an additional 91 blocks to complete the full height of the white tower, but as I said earlier, Minecraft's height restriction of 256 means that my tower is only 39 blocks high (1 layer of bedrock + 2 layers of dirt + 1 layer of grass + 213 blocks to the 7th level + 39 block high tower = 256 block high world).
Not having the top 2/3 of the white tower doesnt mean my recreation is not still full scale, it just means that a 1:1 recreation will not fit. If the build height is ever extended, then I can simply add the rest of the tower without having to touch the remainder of the city.

As for the mountains, yes it's obvious that they are not full scale.... Do you know how tall mountains are in real life? Minecraft could never come close to fitting them in. The Atlas of Middle Earth states that the White Mountains behind Minas Tirith are said to have peaks of at least 3000m, 10x the height of the city. These tiny mountains were the best I could do.

100% accuracy is completely arbitrary when it comes to a structure that does not even exist. I am following as close as possible to available screencaps from the RotK as well as the miniature of the city that I got out of the Extended Edition box set. However, those two references sometimes conflict. Even visuals from the movie can sometimes be different in one shot from another. If you attempt to obtain accuracy from the book, that is a whole new can of worms since it is vastly different from what was depicted in the movie.

I appreciate that you think my work is one of the best Minas Tirith's seen so far, but I wish that you would read the description and consider the facts a little more carefully before you go ahead to make a statement such as calling me a 'noob' or 'laughing' at the accuracy of my work.
