Minefield v1.4 (20/08/12)
Big thanks to AntVenom for getting the map out there!
Game info:
Minefield was developed to be as much like Battlefield as possible, but only using the Minecraft engine.
The game features 3 game modes, TDM, Rush and Conquest assault. The map has a built in HUD (Heads up display) telling you what is going on, and the current progress of the game.
It also features support for 7 vs. 7 players, each spawn booth with an added 'auto-kit-system' which automatically dispenses your items out as you exit your booth.
Game Modes:
Team Death Match:
Flat out killing arena. The 5 minute counter starts up, and the doors open. Ready for the first team to lose all 10 lives from their display section on the HUD. You have 10 seconds after the doors open before lives are deducted.
Rush:
Red team defends bomb site A and B, whilst blue team tries to detonate both. HUD displays a safe bomb as 'Green' an armed bomb as 'Flashig' and a detonated bomb as 'Red'. Red team wins if one or both bombs are safe after the 5 minutes are up. Blue team wins if both bombs are detonated.
Conquest Assault:
Red team has to protect the 3 control points. A, B and C. Flag spawning is on, if your team has captured a flag then you are able to use the spawn pods using the spawn tunnels. (Above the map) However default spawn point is also enabled. Flags have 3 states, 'Red' 'None' 'Blue'. The colours being the teams, and 'None' being un-captured. After 5 minutes, whichever team owns more flags wins.
Minefield Lobby:
The lobby area of MineField features a tunnel for each team. These tunnels are locked midway however can be opened by using the appropriate levers in the control room. It also has boards of rules and extra info which players can read between and before matches. There is also a door for the match host, only to be used by them. Inside is a walkway to the control room and a redstone music player which plays the theme song for battlefield! There's also a loop option.
Control room:
The control room has been designed to be as easy as possible, simply set up a match by resetting the appropriate components for the gamemode (Eg. Conquest would need a reset on all control points), and then click the 'Start [gamemode] button. You must click "Stop Match" before switching game modes. Stop match will automatically stop and reset the timer.
Additional Info:
- Please make sure if on a server, that the server owner has put 'View distance' on atleast 8, or if below, have a player in the lobby to reset the timer. Redstone somtimes gets stuck/glitches at large distances.
- Please make sure that ONLY the host gets through the host door. Untrusted players may damage redstone.
- Don't play it alone! Get big teams, for maximum fun.
