For the past couple of days ive been working on building a Spleef arena on our server really just for the hell of it. The land i built it on originally was a swatch of flat land that someone created to build a village (He got banned soon after for griefing there were only 3 small buildings on the site, so it was repurposed.) so i measured it out and built the arena. Its in somewhat of a 1950's/1960's style and so far im proud of how its turned out. On the top, youll see the towers that hold the retractable roof... which doesnt work :P i forgot to take into account the fact that pistons can only push about 10 blocks at once... and the roof is 39x39 BUT it looks good and was worth the try so its not coming down. Along with that theres a piston gate system for the athletes to be let in and to keep the fans from going into the arena. Now under the playing field, players drop down into a thing of water, and get pushed down into a hole which feeds into a mob grinder AKA WIN OR DIE!!! >:D But yeah, its still under development. I'm thinking about adding some locker rooms and were gonna put paintings up as "Advertisements" and such. Credit goes to Brandman (www.planetminecraft.com/member/brandman/) for the retractable roof idea. Tho it may not work physically, aesthetically its rather impressive. Also credit goes to Six for helping with the wiring and to Zortron for help on the walls and the advertisements idea.
