OverCast proudly presents our server's latest build project, the construction of New Aether. It is a remake of an old project of ours, and the improvement really shows. Rather than being a project for a team of staff members only, the project was open to the public of the server to help on.

This city is our server's new capitol, and features three main districts-- Upper, Middle, and Lower Aether. The build is very intricate, and was inspired by Azurago's original server city, Aether, which was founded around four years ago and has since been long-lost. This project was made to revisit the city a second time, and have the entire server come together to build something amazing.

The city's districts contain the following districts.

Upper Aether is a floating spheroid containing a castle and the eight houses of the city's founders. The network is kept afloat by the city's power crystal, located in Lower Aether.

Upper Aether contains:
  • City's Castle
  • entrance spheroid
  • eight founder's homes

Middle Aether is located on the higher rings of the city. There are two parts to Middle Aether, which are the Alpha (higher) and Beta (lower) sections. This district of the capital contains civillian homes and town-owned buildings, which are open to the public.

Middle Aether contains:
  • Town Hall
  • Bank
  • Post Office
  • Theatre
  • Tavern
  • Chapel
  • Clock Tower
  • Courthouse
  • Cemetary
  • Playground
  • Guillotine
  • townspeople's homes
  • Jail

Lower Aether is the town's center and all of the buildings and areas located within the city's rings. There are two rings to the city, corresponding with the two districts in Middle Aether. There's the Eso (inner) Ring and the Exo (outer) Ring.

Lower Aether contains:
  • four differently-styled apartment complexes
  • food court
  • zoo
  • interior park
  • mall
  • art gallery
  • library

This build is mostly completed. Some of the townspeople homes aren't furnished, the city castle has not been furnished yet, and some of the areas in the Exo Ring in Lower Aether are not completely finished. The build project took a few months to complete, and is one of our largest and most impressive collaborative projects to date, aside from the server staff's Peles Castle project. The schematic is very large and will be added at a later date.

If you enjoyed this project, remember to diamondfavorite, and subscribe to show your support!

You are welcome to use our schematic, but please give us credit for it if you do!

The contest entry is a server-wide build project, led by redJAZZangel with help from fireshadow52, Azurago, TKDmaddox12, and rosiesunny.

Thank you very much for the complement! I'm so happy that this build project turned out the way it did. It was one of our first large-scale projects, and hopefully we'll be able to finish up the miniscule details soon!

It was a lot of fun to do this project, and even people who didn't think they were good builders were able to help out, contribute, and get more practice with building. I'm hoping we'll do even more build projects in the future!
