Hello! This is the finished product of my long project-paradigm city.  This city has a story line wrapped around everywhere you walk and experience.  It is based off of the actual Paradigm City of the fantastic show 'Big O'. I do not claim to own some of the quotes I have used from it, so keep that in mind. The story does not follow the main plot of the show, but rather bends the other potential possibilities of it.


I spent a lot of time on this, and it has been a very fun project.  So please, show me respect and do not steal my work, at least give me credit.

If you want to, go for it. ^_^ The best place to see it is on the server mc.pwegoable.com, because there is some fire/lava damage in singleplayer. My channel isn't popular either, but if you want to make a video I think you should first practice if you haven't already and try to start your own channel.  Let me know how it goes if you end up doing it

Hi, lovely build so far, I'm not sure if you're aware of it already, but it seems to self-destruct when I enter the Hall of Knowledge. There's a particular lava wall decoration that has bordering foliage and other flammable blocks which starts to flow and ignite them as the chunks are loaded. Should I have a particular mod installed to stop lava flow or should I just visit the server mentioned?

Ah, yes. When I built it, I didn't know about invisible blocks so the server had lava flow off. I think your best bet is to just visit the server, because this map file is a tad bit old as well and might be missing some parts.  On the server everything will probably make more sense for you.
Maybe you can ask for someone to walk you through it, like a guide.

Thank you very much n_n  It was a matter of months, which is quite some time. These pictures don't even show everything. I uploaded the city in parts and this is basically the showcase of it with the world download. You should check that out,  because there's a lot to see.

Thank you very much, I'm happy you liked it and enjoyed it.  I'm glad you can feel inspired and learn from it, that's a great way to learn, to embrace all the things around you, I like that.


I'm not certain on how to give yourself creative, sorry. A friend of mine was nice enough to create the world save with a mod. My next city like this, I will try to have a creative mode save.

i tried opening the source files in notepad but that didn't work, it came out as some goofy text line. it's all good i can still look around just the mod for flight isn't the best =/ but still the more i look around the more i see and, omg the beauty =P.  May i ask how many people helped with the total project? and I'm defiantly going to look into Big O now.

You should check out mycraft, it's what I use. It's a 3d flying mod, it's fantastic but a bit difficult to get used to at first.  
I did all of the work ^_^ There are three small buildings done by some friends which on each of them it says their name.
You should definitely get into Big O. This is only inspired by it, and is very relative to the characters but as for story, it's very different. Big O is my favorite tv show, it's something you have to focus on to get all the messages.
Im curious though, where are you in Paradigm city? Have you made it to the hall of knowledge, or the theater? Have you found the book, or made it to the violence district? I love to see how people digest the map :)

thank you for the showing me mycraft it's very useful, and I love the Hall of Knowledge, everything is so detailed and it looks amazing, I'm so jealous of your ability. I've also seen the auction house, a garden thing that had a glass dome on part of the building (didn't catch the name on that one) the long hall with the purple  circular floor design, and a lot more but everything I've seen so far is mindboggling and inspiring.

No problem :)  Im not sure if you have, but there is a small secret under the stairs to the left of that purple flooring building. (it's name is Divinus Regnum) which is a neat little secret. But also through the two towers there, you get to the docks. Under the docks lies a big secret as well.  I'd say the best clue I can give you, is to follow the direction of the clouds.  Basically the city is named Paradigm for a reason, and as the story and you move through it, it's constantly shifting. 
For the world save, the goal is to find Gordon Rosewater's house, but on the server this is on, there is a secret near it, that has the 3 true endings of it.

i found Gordon's house flying around =P I've read a lot of quotes and they are making me really want to see this show haha i just need to find it somewhere. and i think when it converted to anvil it cut a bunch of it into an ocean biome  so i may have to re DL it, but all is well, ill definitely try to find the secrets =P

That's cool that my project got you interested :) Actually, most of the signs layed out are from me, though there have been a few quotes used. The conversation with Gordon is in fact from the show :) It's a very intense moment in the show.
You should definitely stay tuned for my next up and coming city/storyline. 
It's bigger than Paradigm in every aspect, even in storyline so there's a lot more to enjoy.   It follows a bit more linearly like a game/adventure map so you can understand where exactly to go this time haha xD

Yes, I'm building the entire city on Crysis server. If you're interested, you can check out the first few chapters of it. I'm waiting for us to update to 1.2 to finish the main town of the first chapter so I can finish something in it.  When I do, I'll post it here :)
But for now if you ever go on, you can check out /warp desino aetas

I noticed that the stationary lava from some decorations starts to flow an to destroy everything, also there are some lava spots under the theatre that burns the wool of the floor


and there are some missing/unfinished parts of the city


Note: this is not a critic, i admire your work and i respect you very much, it is just a suggestion
(mabye it is just my computer that doesn't work properly.....)

Thanks for the compliment and yes, I wasn't realizing at first that in singleplayer all of the aesthetics you could pull off in a server may not work. Although, I have not heard of missing parts of the city. Can you please specify a bit of which parts are missing? Because the city burning down is one thing, but parts of it not existing are another x)

I posted this project 18 days ago, only to show everyone "HEY IT'S DONE NOW CHECK IT OUT", It's been done for a few months. I couldn't always get a world save, but now a friend of mine made one for me. So no, I don't build at all on pwego server, not interested to do so.  I play on Crysis server now ^_^ I like to come say hi to serenity server :)

What I got to see was really cool. I have to ask if this was made in a place where fire doesn't spread though. As I walked around I encountered lava-flows that didn't seem like they were supposed to be there. There was one beneath you "Theater of Life" which immediately began to burn all of the wool around it--the entire theater was doomed to burn, since a large majority of it is wool.Also, there seemed to be a lot of stuff on fire....such as random trees and such. I don't know what that was about, but it seemed like the entire world was self-destructing.A second thing was that when I wanted to get back to the spawn point (an impossible feat in such a huge map!) I simply killed myself, expecting to be teleported back to the beginning. Instead, I was spawned in the middle of a swamp. What I did explore was gorgeous, and the main hall was a sight to be seen. I can't imagine how long it took you to build this--and the color palette you chose is very attractive. The map is amazing, I just wish half of it wasn't on fire. XD

Thank you for the insight! Thank you thank you :) Yes I just got off the phone with a friend who played it saying the same exact thing about the fire/lava XD! Yes, it was made on the server I have the IP for.  Lava didn't flow nor fire, though the fact that you mention it was self-destructing would be necessary as far as abstract metaphors go ;)  It's not intended but I like to hear that it was more unique than the original, seeing as then you have to hurry up and get the hell out of dodge o_0  Another huge issue was that the THREE endings were not on this map since they were far away on the server and I used mywarp signs...so the only way to possibly see the ending is on the server....Im glad you enjoyed it, and please see it for yourself on the sever ^__^  Im working on a brand new city/storyline and I will try to think about the singleplayer people now :)
