It isnt a glitch, its perfect timing. When a block moves it becomes an entity and by going fast enough you cant go through the entity.

If you could like comments I would and I would like all the comments pointing out that this is just a door in the ground

Actually, it's a complex piston/redstone structure that involves perfect timing and many circuits. Don't hate on this build because it's popular.

OK, I'll give you the timing and the fact that it is a very fast moving door that isn't simple but the fact is that it's just an over engineer door. Also, I am not hating because it's popular. Granted I probably wouldn't of commented if it wasn't popular but only because I just commented to point out to all the people marveling at it that it is just on over engineer door.
I am not saying that it isn't good and I am not saying the guy isn't skillful in making this but...IT IS STILL JUST AN OVER ENGINEER DOOR IN THE FLOOR

You could make it as deep as you want, as long as you have two blocks of water at the bottom to break your fall.

It's a redstone structure that involves perfect timing from the point at which the pressure plate is pressed to the fall. Don't hate because it's famous.

CrippledAssassin

May 22, 2012, 1:34 pm

Im not hating JUST because its famous. But it is a reason. Im hating on it because it is an overdone piston door, and it got to the list, and it somehow got over 200 diamonds. Again, its just a piston door, yes it has timing but when you think about it all it took was right clicking on some repeaters and testing it. Not so impressive when you use your brain instead of your eyes.

couljj

In that case, recreate it(;
& then we'll see how "overdone" it is.

How'd you do the piston door? Pistons are closed though and yours opened it o.O hmmm I have an idea on how it'd work o.o

_____
EDIT:
---------

I found out my own way, which was the way I was thinking of, and it may or may not be how you did it. But it still works :D

This is how I do it, not sure if it's how he does it: put a redstone torch down and run wire from it to the piston. Then dig a one block deep hole and make sure that the wire is running through the hole.
then put a sticky piston with a block next to the hole and wire it to a switch/button/plate. Then, when you hit the button/switch/plate, the piston will extend, cutting off power to the first piston and making it retract. When you flip the switch again/ step of plate/ wait a second for buttons, The second piston will retract and allow power back to the first piston, making it extend.

Yeah, already found out a way that worked which is what you basically said. So, yeah.... if you read after my edit (which was soon after my post) I said I found a way that worked.

I will never understand why your stuff is so popular... A piston door with good timing got 180+ diamonds? If I posted that it would get 1 diamond ._.

I agree that this is just a piston door good timed, everybody can do it, but he has hard and good things too witch people can use, because it's downloadable, like the automatic lighthouse or his castle bridge

That doesn't mean he deserves 200 diamonds and knocking a far more deserving project off the very hotly contested Project Reel.

Is there somebody who actually looks at these and chooses what goes on the reel or is it just based on diamonds? if its just on diamonds then im probly just gunna quit trying

evjohn13
Level 6
Apprentice Engineer

if you look close it's not exactly a door it's a little more complicated than that. it utilizes the fact that the player can pass through a block while it is in motion and times the fall of the player so that the block moves just as the player hits it.in this way the "door"never actually opens at all.then the blocks reset so that it can be used repeatedly.
