Today I bring you guys a pretty awesome project; The Team DnA PvP Arena!

So TechniCube was asked by Docm77 and AnderZEL to create and build a PvP game and arena for them and that is just what we have done, we have created one epic project. Not only does it look awesome but it's 100% fully operational, wired up with redstone, command blocks and a bit of magic by Eease and built by the rest of the TechniCube team.

This map showcases so much in the ways of aesthetics and functionality. It has a massive arena themed around Vikings and the Nordic area. At the center of the arena is a large tree that has grown through a building leaving it in ruin along with several others lying around it and all surrounded by grandstand seating. From the lobby you can see into the little town that lies before the arena and off in the distance several Viking longboats docked on a frozen lake. The whole area is surrounded by a massive custom pine forest and mountains. But of course there is so much more to see and easter eggs to find.

The custom gamemodes are just as impressive with several to choose from including Deathmatch, and Brawl, Last Team Standing. You can also choose to fight in many teams of two or two massive teams pitted against each other, it’s up to you!
(Full feature description below)

Now here's the kicker, you can actually download this one!

     --Map Technical Features--

Lobby:
The lobby of the map is set on a hill overlooking the village, the lake, and the arena. It has the following mechanics.
  • Gamemode selection: Right click the item frame to toggle between the 3 different gamemodes (see below)
  • Respawn mode selector: Right click the item frame to toggle between respawn modes (base, on teammate, or randomly). This is only available in brawl mode.
  • Round/kill number selector: Right click the item frame to toggle through the different options for the number of rounds or kills. In Last Team Standing you can choose from between 1-8 rounds and for Brawl and Deathmatch you can choose 30,40,50,60,70,80,90,or 99 kills.
  • Team selection: Enter one of the colored gates to join a team. The number of lights on in the gate shows the current number of players on that team.
  • Number of teams selection: Press the buttons to move the big blue numbers up and down. The number that is light blue is the currently selected number.
  • Randomize teams button: A color changing wool block with a button on it. If you hit the button, all players will be teleported in front of one of the gates in even teams.

Starting Gate:
Each team has a starting gate with a barred off entrance to the arena. Once the game is started the bars will move upwards allowing the players to move forward into the game. It has the following mechanics.
  • Starting gate: Gate will only open once the game has started and once passed through you cannot go back the other way.
  • Return to team selection gate: Allows you to return to the lobby.
  • Ready mechanisms: For Last Team Standing and Brawl there will be colored wool blocks in front of each gate. only when each player is standing on one of the blocks will the game start. In Deathmatch, there is an item frame with a wool in it at the gate, right click it to toggle between ready and not-ready. Only when both teams are ready will the game start.

Gamemodes:
There are 3 gamemodes to choose from with this map selectable in the lobby. No matter which mode is selected, each player is equipped with full iron armor, a stone sword, and an infinity I, power I bow with and arrow. In all gamemodes hunger is a factor and pigs must be killed to get food. All gamemodes are custom made and original.
  • Deathmatch: There are 2 teams of between 1 and 16 players. The object of the game is to be the first team to have the selected number of kills (30,40,50,60,70,80,90, or 99). The players respawn at their base until the game ends at which point they are teleported to the lobby.
  • Brawl: Choose from between 2-8 teams each consisting of 2 players.  The object of the game is to be the first team to have the selected number of kills (30,40,50,60,70,80,90, or 99). In this mode, when you die you change into spectator mode for the remainder of the round. The players keep respawning in their starting gate at the end of each round until all the rounds have been played. At the end of the last round, all players are teleported to the lobby.
  • Last Team Standing: Choose from between 2-8 teams each consisting of 2 players and between 1-8 rounds. The object of the game is to stay alive as long as possible and the last team standing wins. The players respawn at their base until the game ends at which point they are teleported to the lobby.

Awards:
At the end of a game all players are teleported to an awards platform in spectator mode. The award being won can be seen at the top center of the screen and the player or players that win the award will be teleported to the center of the platform where they will be converted to adventure mode for a few seconds so that they become solid. a set of fireworks are set off and then the player(s) return to spectator mode and the next award is given. Once the last award is given all players are teleported to the lobby.
  • Most kills: Given to the player or players who killed the most other players over the course of the game. Occurs in all gamemodes.
  • Most deaths: Given to the player or players who died the most over the course of the game. Occurs in Brawl and Deathmatch.
  • Most rounds survived: Given to the player or players who survived the greatest number of rounds over the course of the game. Occurs in Last Team Standing only.
  • Pigs Killed: Given to the player or players who killed the most pigs over the course of the game. Occurs in all gamemodes.

Redstone:
To see the redstone for this map, teleport to 0,10,0. All redstone created by Eease, for more go to https://www.youtube.com/user/EeaseMaps.

--Important--

Make sure when you open this map that you are using Minecraft version 1.8 (snapshot 14w11a and up) as there are many elements of this map that involve features from 1.8 like new blocks and commands and none of these will appear or work if you open this map in an earlier version or in a different program. You will pretty much just have a broken map and that’s no fun now is it?

We hope you like and enjoy this creation of ours we have put a lot of time and effort into this project and we hope you can see that. Please favorite, download, diamond, and sub!

Update #2 - Bug Fixes : by Technicube 05/03/2014 9:18:01 pmMay 3rd, 2014

found a few bugs after launching the system. The new download link is http://adf.ly/lhT8Y and is the most current version. If you find another bug while playing please send us an email at technicubejobs@gmail.com and we'll be sure to get back to you asap as well as fix the bug. The full list of changes can be found below.

1) Fixed glitch that prevented proper reset after each round because of not recieving an ID if your first game was in the "Last Team Standing" gamemode. Players no longer drop out of the sky or suffocate in walls after being converted from spectator mode to adventure mode and instead get teleported back to their base as intended.
'
2) Blue team can now win in the "Last Team Standing" gamemode.

3) Changed messages to say "TEAM wins this round" or "TEAM wins this match" instead of "TEAM wins" in both cases for clarification.
