the Vickers VC10 was a jet airliner and a military transport aircraft that was used by the RAF, the Oman royal flight, U.A.E and the Qatar royal flight along with multiple Airlines such as BOAC (which later became British Airways), Gulf Air and British Caledonian. it was first introduced to BOAC in April 1964 and later retired in the RAF in September 2013 after marking its 50th anniversary in 2012. it was a well known for having its four Rolls Royce Conway engines on the back of the aircraft. its is one of two aircraft that have this design with the second one being a illyushin il-62 Classic which has been joked as a copy of the VC10. like with many airliners there have been one or two accidents/incidents on a vc10 aircraft. one famous accident in the RAF in 1997 when the aircraft was refuelling on the ground. the aircraft seemed to have tipped up onto its back. this was because the aircraft had more fuel on the back of the aircraft than the front thus causing it to tip. there are many fully intact VC10s on display in museums such as the flugausstellung Hermeskeil in Hermeskeil,Germany and just recently in 2015 RAF Cosford has been given a RAF version of the VC10. you can learn more about this aircraft on the wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vickers_VC10
