warhammer esque escort cruiser

this is a pirate version of a warhammer 40k imperial navy escort class ship (though it might be even to small for being an escort).

made this months ago, currently working on something extremly bigger...(see images)

have fun with it, either blow it up, blow stuff up with it, or make it your crash landed home, just be sure to give proper credit to me when using it

texture pack seen is a compilation composed and edited by me (shown is a outdated version) and the water are shaders by a water shader mod.... [1.2.5] Water Shader alpha v5b - ( Minecraft Forum)

the ships consists more or less out of a front section, front-midsection, rear-midsection and a rear section;

front section: features a ramming prow with dispenser arrow class 'torpedos' and boarding hatches. as well as entrance to all 3 levels of the midsection and a large turret on top of it.

front-Midsection: features 3 1/2 levels, bottom and top level are broadside arrow dispensers while mid level and pretty much the most space consuming are the 6 fully functional tnt cannons, these must be manually loaded and can either be fired seperatly or from within the fire control bridge.
the 1/2 level are on top of the top level and consists of a large turret near the back.

rear-midsection: the control tower, consisting of bridge, chapel, officer quarters, fire control and shield wings harnessing 2 assault ships. also features entrances to the outside world (if you havent come in via the cannons :P)

rear section: captains quarters, library, ammunition storage and engines

I find it strange they would put a ramming prow on a space ship.
Designer: These ships: They will combat in the vacuum of space, millions of miles from and planet, and should they detect another ship even visual identification is possible, and and any sort of critical damage fatal. There is after all, comrade, no such thing as 'minor damage' in space. Weapons ideas?
Designer 2: They should ram each other! Like sailing ships or something!

designer 1, btw, while we are at it, since we are in space, add massive armor to the front, together with this our low overal ship profile, we can go through other ships while we take the least damage, oh and put 6 torpedo tubes in it while you're at it to increase any ramming damage done.
designer 2, yes (as seen in originals), and make the prow recognizable so our fighter and bomber units can recognize our ships more easily.
designer 1, splendid, we shall also add a cannon on top of it, to even further maximize frontal damage.
designer 2, seems legit, oh and dont forget the long range broadside arrays and those side armors, we need to protect the main structure as well.......

warhammer makes no sense... but a lot of people like it anyway. also this is a simplified version of such a ship :P

Designer 3: Dis ram, make it slope so any debris ejected off it has a good chance to slam into the superstucture...and make the structure tall so if the ship missed the target and passes underneath it the command bridge and adjoining rooms will be sheared off!
Designer in back of room: Yo buddy, this isn't Star Trek, we aren't trying to decapitate our command structure by putting them in unnecessary risk.

Designer 1: Oh yeah, and lets have all our heavy weaponry on one plane, so the entire ship has to be maneuvered to fire at mobile targets in a 3 dimensional battlefield!

designer X: just shut up and build the dang thing... we will add a bit of this... a bit of that.... and oh a bit of that.....

which concludes a strong engine which will make the ship maneuverable, strong VOID [tm] Shields (no interior representation in actual minecraft model) to divert impacts and incoming hits, a fully functional sloped prow which will divert other and any debris away from the vessel on impact (like an actual prow) with torpedo tubes, some rotating turrets for fighters, a slightly obvious bridge, but hey you can see most of the stuff around you visual... some imperial recognition symbols to fluff it up some more (they act as armor as well) oh and those broadside mounted cannons, great idea, this allows us to have massive cannons on a small ship, when one battery fires shells the other battery counterfires (duds/blanks) to negate any gained velocity by firing the first battery, unlike other systems that when you start firing makes you spin right round, right round like a record, Right round round round..... "walks away humming "

star trek ships are tiny in contrast to w40k ships, the 40k ship hull is composed differently, when a 40k ship takes a hit it endures, when a star trek ship takes a hit it bleeds to death or takes critical hull damage instantly (almost always the warpcore somehow gets damaged XD) unless the warpcore gets spared or the shot glances...

besides these construction issues are also a matter of taste, preferences, opinions and uninvented fiction which makes this conversation to be going absurd either boring or fun and endless if played right, id like to end this and this is my last response.

Wow, I approve of this. You did a fine job with this escort ship. ^^ Reminds me a bit of the Dauntless-Class Light Cruiser, my personal favorite...
