About Timber-Networks

Timber-Networks (previously known as Timbercraft) Is a friendly community that offers a friendly multiplayer gaming experience for you and your friends. Although we started off with Minecraft servers we have now invested kind donator's money into a Dedicated server. For those of you who do not know what a dedicated server is, here is a brief explanation. Most of the average Minecraft servers you play or buy from websites set up your server on a machine shared with other server owners / customers. This is an decent way of setting up a Minecraft server, but for example is a server on the same machine as you world edited a large chunk then you would also suffer from the lag. A dedicated server lets us have a whole machine to ourselves obviously causing us less lag and much greater server performance. These dedicated servers are not cheap though. Thanks to generous donators we are able to pay £90 a month for this server. However, if you play more games than Minecraft then that's where Timber-Networks can help you out. We currently offer Tekkit, Team Fortress 2 and are working on many other games to enhance your multi-player experience.

Our server plugins

On our Tekkit server we use a carefully selected range of plugins to maximize fun and keep a fair playing environment at the same time. Here is a full plugin list for our Tekkit server:

Announcer (Announces designated announcements publicly to the server)
Autosaveworld (Automatically saves the world every 10 seconds)
BorderGuard (Creates a boundary of 5000x5000 from spawn which stops people build too far from spawn)
Buycraft (Enables donations to be made in a secure and efficient manor)
ChestShop (Used for our shop and donator shop located under spawn)
CoreProtect (Used for block logging and to rollback areas)
Essentials (Gives all basic and needed commands for a server, e.g /home)
Factions (Lets you create a mini team for you and your friends. More detail below)
iConomy (Our server's economy system. Gives all the users an account and allows them to spend money)
NoItem (Used to block certain items being used on the server by the means of permissions)
PermissionsEx (Used to stop certain players using commands they should not)
PvPTimer (Stops players being killed 15 minutes from when they first join the server)
Residence (Used to loan out plots of land which is automatically protected. Broken)
ShowCaseStandalone (Used to create floating items in the shop which cant be picked up for a item preview)
Votifer (Used to reward you for voting on our forum posts. See our homepage for a list of places to vote)
WorldEdit (Used to change areas and build large building with ease)
WorldGuard (allows certain areas to be protected from the average user)

Factions

Our server is heavily based around factions. We use factions to have wars and have a competition across the server. There are tournaments that are held on the server where you can win amazing prizes for your faction, including Money and items. Be wary though. The tougher factions that already exist on the server will be looking to hunt you down. Make sure you be careful of enemies but also try and make allies and together you can form an empire to crush those hostile factions!

Here is how to start a faction:

First make sure you have some money on your account like 1000 and choose an area you want to start from
Then type /f create Must be quite short
Then type /f Desc This will set a description of your faction
Now type /f deposit 1000 This will deposit 1000 into your factions account
Now type /f claim This will protect a 16x16 chunk from where you are standing and will protect it.
Now you can claim more land by going to adjacent chunks and typing /f claim again
Type /f help for additional help using factions

How to help the server and get rewards

There are multiple ways to help the server out and get rewards. The main methods are commenting on various forum threads and voting on public server lists. Every time you vote on a site you get 1 Red Matter and £10,000 in game money. We really appreciate every time you vote for our server and comment on a thread. It really helps us become known across the Minecraft and Tekkit community, and will generate more players for the server which means more people to team up with or even kill!.
