The majority of the information below is legacy, we are in the process of moving all worlds to independent servers. Gameplay should not be affected, but the voting system is a little buggy. Player limit increased to 1000.
Looking for a new server to call home? Look no further! The Minecraft Server is powered by RAMdisk, with over 108GB total RAM. We also have two physical servers and redundant 1Gbps internet connections to ensure the server stays online and runs smoothly. Backups are taken frequently, and multiple backup methods are used.
We do not tolerate griefing, and anyone who somehow manages to make it past our anti-griefing measures will be permanently and possibly even globally banned.
We update our plugins regularly, which include McMMO, Essentials, WorldGuard, WorldEdit, Logblock, LWC, Factions, Dynmap, Multiverse, and many more, including custom plugins!
Worlds (Portals available at spawn):
PixelPuncher: Default world. GriefPrevention, LWC, LogBlock, etc active.
PixRP: Role-playing world.
Creative1: Creative world, 32x32 plots, use /plotme auto to claim a plot.
Creative2: Creative world, 64x64 plots, use /plotme auto to claim a plot. Requires Builder rank.
Creative3: Creative world, 128x128 plots, use /plotme auto to claim a plot. Requires Architect rank.
Creative4: Creative world, 256x256 plots, use /plotme auto to claim a plot. Requires Artisan rank.
Creative5: Creative world, 512x512 plots, use /plotme auto to claim a plot. Requires Grandmaster rank.
NoRules: Griefing, PVP, theft are allowed. Cheating is not.

Griefing, looting, stealing, and killing animals and pets belonging to others is not allowed in any world except NoRules, period. You WILL be caught. Violations of this rule will result in a global ban.
Unfair client modifications are not allowed. This includes flymod, speedmod, x-ray mods and texture packs, etc. Violation of this rule will also result in a global ban.
Do not spam the chat, use /me to talk normally, or ask the same question muliple times. It is annoying.
There are honeypots located randomly across the server. If something isn't yours, and isn't part of the map, don't touch it.
Do you plan on building a square box to hide from monsters for the night? That's great, but put some effort into an actual house as soon as it's daytime. Boxes will be destroyed.
Advertising other servers will get you banned. Not only is it rude, it may be a phishing attempt to steal your session, and we will not be responsible for compromised accounts.
Don't ask for ranks, or consider your offer denied. You can submit an application at theminecraftserver.com/recruitment.

Where do I get in-game currency?
The two easiest ways to get money are by voting (/vote), and obtaining resources in survival mode and selling them in the mall or to other players.
How do I protect my building?
There are multiple ways to protect your work in The Minecraft Server. When you place your first chest, a 10x10 area around it will be protected automatically. The protected area will be illuminated by client-side indicators made with gold and glowstone blocks (these cannot be mined, to make them go away right click somewhere outside of your plot with a stick). To expand this claim, use a golden shovel which can be made or purchased in the mall. If you have a plot in any creative world, it is automatically protected from grief of any kind.
Why am I lagging?
Due to the hardware invested in The Minecraft Server, chances are that the lag is on your end. There are several things that can be done to help with this, including switching from a wireless to wired connection, decreasing render distance, installing OptiFine, and reducing some of your video settings. Disabling clouds and particles helps also.
