A: I actually started off running my server with the minecraft.net server. Then I started getting a lot of people to join my server daily. So I decided to move on to something that can let me manage my server a little better. This is called Bukkit. If you are interested in using it, you can visit the bukkit website at http://www.bukkit.org/. I have really enjoyed using this and I would recommend that you use it too if you are making a server.
