"There's something for everyone."




Official Races
Aerofethan
Birdlike, beaked and feathered people; tall, slender and light of weight. Most have two wings attached near the top of the vertebrae.

Draema
Carved rock and magma people with eyes of ember, forged in the heart of the Nether.

Dwarf
Short and stocky, standing about a foot shorter than most humans; proud people of the mountains.

Elemental
8 Sentient "Essentia", one for each faith who take on the physical appearance of their faith; originated from Gerodoe.

Elf
5 tribes scattered from the mythological Eldariel; Tareldan (Highelf), Saeradan (Woodelf), Hriwan (Snowelf), Talathan (Darkelf) and Amrodan (elf).

Fae
Varying creatures who embody magic, lead by the council of Gargantuans(unplayable); Pizkie, Spryte, Kobold, Naiad and Dryad.

Gnome
A short, chubby, rosy-cheeked and cunning race that hail from Pedalle; the most gifted in magic.

Goblin
Pointy tongues,needle-like teeth, bloated bodies and spindly arms. Intellegent beings that were born in the caverns of the Maw.

Halfling
Small elf-like people with ears similar to humans, descended from one of the 4 Hobkyn families; Rookwens (fire), Kettels (earth), Morrens (water) and Wrendals (air).

Human
Normen (pale) and the Suthan (tanned); an adaptable and varied race from Normandal.

Myr
An aquatic scaly-tailed race who dwell in this ocean; children of the water patrons, Serenity and Nereus.

Orc
Muscular, earth toned skin and tusk-bearing warriors of the Maw.

Ssalodian
Snake-like beings with poisonous fangs and thermal vision; richly clothed, desert-dwelling enemies to the Myr

Troll
Slouched, almost bestial creatures from Pedalle; forest, cave and tundra dwelling beings that differ from one another.


Player Races
Current Player Races

A race that has been invented by one or two players to suit their Roleplay needs. It has an extensive amount of player written Lore, and may have a page that summarises a few aspects of the race. These are usually played by a minority of players, and may not be a balanced race due to certain factors of the race's design. These have a distinct matriarch/patriarch who governs the race. This person will also be the sole person I come to in order to discuss factors involving it, such as problems with it or perhaps wanting to make it into an official Server Race.

Age of Kindling (15000 BET-7000 BET)




~15000 - Ireneus creates the basis of reality: time and space.


~15000 - Ethereal beings manifest themselves from the swirling clouds of energy. The amount of power ranges from vast, to tiny.


~15000 - Bestowed with the power to create, Ireneus tasks the beings to create the world.


~14900 - Gerodoe is created, inhabited by Elementals: near god-like immortal beings that can shape the world of Gerodoe as they see fit.


~14850 - The Elementals work quickly. Not able to die they soon become nearly as powerful as Ireneus and so they have to be stopped. Ireneus blockades them into Gerodoe and strips them of much of their power. The world of Uthrandir is created by the aftermath of stripping Elementals of their power, where the power then converged into one entity.


~14750 - Ireneus retreats to the caverns in the heart of Uthrandir, where he sets about creating mortals while the ethereal beings sculpt the outer layers of the world to house life.


~14500 - The 7 Mortal Afterlives are created to house the souls of mortals when they die.


~14250 - The Fae begin to find that they can live in the new world of Uthrandir. They watch as new races emerge across the world.


~14000 - Elementals find a way to traverse the gap between Gerodoe and Uthrandir, however they are severely weakened in this process. When they lose their energy they return to their homeland, distinguishing it as the 8th Mortal Afterlife.


~14000 - Humans are created, and begin to develop and spread across the world.


~13500 - The Religion of the 8 Faiths is created on the small island of Caerundal. It is based on the depictions of the Elementals with their varying forms becoming the 8 Faiths; this was due to the primitive Humans at this time thinking their ethereal forms mysterious and godly.


~13250 - Mortals learn to distinguish between the different characteristics of a particular faith and attach an image to them: the Patrons.


~13000 - The newly formed Clergy send messengers by the sea. They travel to the corners of the world and spread the Eight Faiths.


~12950 - Dwarves begin to appear in Uthrandir.


~12800 - Elves begin to appear in Uthrandir.


~12500 -Skrinair arrive in Caerundal. They sailed to Caerundal from a far away land, and soon set up their ambitions towards the energies known as mana.


~12000 - The Myr are created as immortal guardians of the oceans as the Water patrons vanish from existence.


~11000 - The Skrinair learn to harness the energies left behind by the creation of the world and faiths: magic. This soon becomes common knowledge amongst all mortals.


~10000 - A large group of Humans set up the first city in Southern Caerundal. The First Human King is crowned and styles himself as the King of all Caerundal, when in fact he only rules as far as his army can hold.


~10010 - The Fae, fed up with being killed by the Humans send a messenger to the Human King for peace. It is granted as the two races sign the Praema Treaty.


~8500 - Elves settle in North-eastern Caerundal away from the warmongering Humans.


~8000 - The Ssalodia are created as the Myr banish a large proportion of its race from the sea. The Myr become mortal.


~7500 - The much more primitive Suthan Humans land in Caerundal and begin to raid villages.


~7450 - Shaped by constant warfare the Suthan Humans learn to adapt to Caerundal. They continued to harass the Elves, but remained oblivious to the now thriving First City of the Humans.


~7300 - Ssalodians begin assault on the Myr.


~7298 - Skrinair bring the Dravar into our realm, where they are enslaved by the Sslalodians.


~7295 - Dravar attack Myr ruthlessly.


~7200- The Coven of the Faithes is formed by the Suthans


~7153 - The Isles of Melendor rise to the sky from unknown and mysterious causes. The Aerofethan begin to develop shortly after.


~7100 - The five major Elven tribes emerge.


~7030 - Noros the Valiant convinces the Suthan Humans to travel north to destroy the Elves once and for all. They set sail soon after.




Age of Blaze (7000 BET-0)




~7000 - The Suthan Invasion of Eldariel begins


~6985 - The elves win the Battle of the Raging Fire, ending the human invasion of Eldariel.


~6983 - The Suthans settle in dwarven lands north of Eldariel and become known as the Normen


~6981 - Noron, Capital of Norolan, is founded


~6950 - The Citadel of Khorvond Dum falls after they break through the bedrock layer.


~6949- Dwarves Open the Maw


~6949 - First sightings of Orcs and Goblins.


~6901 - The United Elven Kingdom of Eldariel is created under the rule of King Elcarien Anadhael.


~6746 - Oira’ambal, capital of Eldariel, is founded.


~6148 - Seorsinand, the Temple of Life, is built.


~5994 - Barak Nor is attacked by Goblin hordes, forcing them to close their gates.


~5990 - The Dwarves emerge from Barak Nor to find the Dwarblin abominations living in Amur-Kel.


~5300 - The Human City of Praema grows vast, and hungry for power. Its new King is tyrannical and does not respect the ancient agreements of his Kingdom.


~5299 - The First Kingdom seizes the lands of the Fae in the Black Moon Event.


~5295 - Due to increased hostility with the Fae, swift and brutal action is taken by the Humans. They take thousands of them as slaves.


~5290 - Tensions mount in the south, causing many to head North, away from the conflict.


~5286 - The Night of Blood.


~5220 - Halflings begin to farm and find a life for themselves in the rich riverlands of Tulley.


~4531 - Pedalle undergoes catastrophic events.


~4530 -Gnomes land in South Caerundal.


~4530 - Trolls make way and land in South Caerundal.


~4200 - The Gnomes come into contact with the Halflings of Caerundal.


~3820 - The Aerofethan bring a small group of Human explorers to Melendor.


~3810 - The island of Lammermoor is discovered. Primitive portals flicker in and out of existence upon the floating rock leading to strange and mysterious places.


~3800 - Humans are banished from Melendor by the increasingly fearful Aerofethan.


~2400 - The Skrinair turn their attention to the alignment of all eight forms of magic into one. It appears to be a very promising field.


~2000 - The Divine Council is formed. They work on the construction of temples to each of the faiths in areas across Uthrandir.


~1890 - After centuries of construction, the temples are finished. Lammermoor seems to align its portals with each of these temples, offering easy transport between them.


~1200 - The Kingdom of Norolan descends into chaos as it splits into individual city states. Each are governed by powerful and wealthy families.




Age of Embers (0 - 2847 AET)




0 - The Skrinair succeed in combining the energies of the eight faiths.


1 - The Divine Council, having seen this event in a vision, close the portals in Lammermoor to slow the spread of the Skrinair.


5 - Almost all of the Skrinair are driven mad by this and become monstrous and cannibalistic.


20 - Skrinair devour or kill large numbers of Caerundal's population.


25 - Cobalt Order is created by the Divine Council as the law enforcement and militaristic side of the faith.


26 - Divine Law formulated : Do not serve more than 2 faiths.


27 - Cobalt Order declares war upon the Skrinair.


28 - Cobalt Ranks Formed.


28 - First Archwizard, Constance the Just, is appointed. The Swords of Power are created from a shard of Order Materium. Each Sword Aligned to a specific purpose.


50- The Cobalt Order permits mortals to practice multiple-faithes in the temple of Patria, as long as practice of no more than 2-faiths occurs.


145 - Cobalt Order summon volcanoes in Northern Caerundal to destroy massive numbers of Skrinair.


148 - Constance murdered by Skrinair, Oveya the Black


148 - Baedden the Bright appointed Archwizard


148 - Baedden the Bright allegedly eaten by Skrinair


148 - Belonius Lightbringer appointed Archwizard


230 - Belonius slays Oveya the Black


300 - Skrinair commence the Undead Rising. Causing the deceased to rise from their graves, using their mastery over the faithes.


727 - Cobalt Order destroys many of the Skrinair


1032 - Cobalt Order begin banishing Skrinair to the End


1245 - Through dark corruption some Cobalt Wizards side with the Skrinair.


1260 - Corrupted Cobalt Mages storm the residence of the Divine Council, killing all of them.


1370 - The Massacre at Faelorn Forest


1494 - Rise of the Cult of the Dark; a group of Skrinair oracles who deal in dark and terrible magic.


1552 - A pleasure barge sails from a far away land. It brings the Grey Plague to Southern Caerundal.


1598 - The Great Wall of Caerundal is constructed to stop the spread of the Grey Plague, leaving Praema and all other settlements below the wall to the mercy of the Faiths. It is held up by the Cobalt runes or, when the Cobalts cannot maintain them, the 3 Swords of Power.


1624 - The Draema, tired of living in the Nether, find a way to the surface world... through Dwarven fortresses.


1668- Archwitches of the Coven of the faithes transverse the gap between Caerundal and Gerodoe, leaving the rest behind for years to attain unparalleled power.


1733 - Beginning of the “Three Hundred Years” famine


2030 - Cobalt Order slays Skrinair Glanius the Insane


2041 - “Three Hundred Years” famine ends


2847 - After centuries of strife and toil the Skrinair are beaten and imprisoned within the worlds that they created with their dark magic. Due to their transformation into denizens of the End they become unable to make it back into Uthrandir.




Age of Rekindling (2847 AET - Present Day)


2870 - After containing and banishing the Skrinair, the remaining Cobalt Order magi find their orders fulfilled. They begin to try to fit into society and act on a more sociable level.


2900 -Civilization in Northern Caerundal starts to rebuild itself.


3200 – Civilization in Southern Caerundal begins to Rebuild itself after the ravages of the plague.


4000 - Cities such as Valeni, Alfrodull,Esamtar, and Icehelm flourish in the north. While Willow, Cyneard, Kezan and Etessal Rise once more in the south.


5790 - Royalty and members of noble houses across the world start to run out of land. These conflicts become known as 'A Clash of Crowns'.


5992- Mortal holders of the Swords of power begin to become careless and the swords are cast between owners frequently. Some are even lost in the Soli to come.


5994- Archwizard Belonius is Slain by Trickery from the Oblivion Order


5994- Paragory is appointed the next Archwizard of the Cobalt order


5995- Archwizard Paragory is betrayed by a fellow cobalt wizard, Shem.


5995- Shem announces himself as the next Cobalt Archwizard, after assuming the title he renounces his oaths and slowly awakens as a Skrinair entity.


5995- In Shem's renouncing of Cobalt oath, Ganorga the Ghastly is placed as the next Archwitch of the Cobalt Order. She allies herself with the Lich Vaelmore Dyslandaurar shortly after her placement.


5996 - Skrinair make their way back into caerundal, create the eternal night, and begin to hunt the mortals once again.


5996- Archwitch Ganorga is beaten by a strong Skrinair being known as “The Shadow”. After her defeat, The Shadow enslaves her and puppets her actions.


5996- Heroes of the age defeat the Skrinair, restoring peace and preventing utter calamity.


5997- Archwitch Ganorga is defeated and seemingly vanishes, along with most of the Cobalt order being purged by this point by the doings of The Shadow.


5998- Andrew Alexander is selected as the last Archwizard of the Cobalt order. He is allegedly the Prophesied one.


5998- Heroes of the age battle the surfacing Coven of the faiths, denying their hunt for more power and domination. At this point, the Coven of Death seems to be destroyed and Patria cleansed.


5999- Through Strife and Clash of Crowns, Valeni and Esamtar fall to nature and are reclaimed by the land, many other once thriving cities fall as well.


5999- Leaderless and Crumbling, all activity in port crimson and other cities in the Grand alliance, due to lack of trade in Linarae, slowly comes to a halt as a few cities fall to ruin


5999- The great wall the divided Caerundal Falls, not able to be maintained by the magic of the Cobalt Order or the lost Swords of Power.


6000- Remnants of the Coven of Death lay siege to Harathendel and the Silverhand elves. Heroes rush to try to cleanse the infestation of the death coven.


6001- The Chaos Coven's plans surface. Heroes Valiantly rush to forlorn northern shores to stop the Coven's ploys at domination.


6001- The Archwitch of the Coven of Chaos is defeated, Having wielded a sword of power in combat. This sword was taken as a trophy of conquest by a band of heroes and is once again found in the hands of the mortals.

I was very sad to see the server and associated sites down. I just want to take a moment to pay homage to a society of the most amazing builders and role-players I had the privilege to know. I don't exactly know what happened, but Uthrandir will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for giving me such an amazing gift.

Its really sad to see this server and its community just disappear, I saw there were hopes of it being revived; however with the forums seemingly non-existent, I doubt this will ever happen. Thank you Uthrandir for the memories and the fun times I've yet to recreate elsewhere.
