It goes without saying that the tales of the elders are something to be taken to heart, rather than to face. But, of course, there is no tale without intrigue, without interest, without soul. And so is the tale of Muerte, the Demon of the Six Suns. I will tell that tale to you, young one. For it is both an incredible story to hear, and an incredible lesson to learn...

Nearly four hundred years ago, in the mountains of northern Japan, there lived two tribes;
The Mizu Tribe, and
The Kasai Tribe.
These two tribes lived in peace and harmony for many years, sharing wealth and fortune
between each other, as though brothers or sisters.

The Mizu Tribe lived near the waterfalls to the east, where they would take the most pleasant water
of all, and make wonderful tea and soup with it. This was their talent.

The Kasai Tribe lived near the volanco to the west, and with the lava that bubbled from the top,
would create marvelous silver utensils and knives. This was their talent.

Every year, the tribes would meet at a sacred temple in the middle of the great Heiwa valley, and
share a meal with the tea, soup, and silverware. This tradition went on for many, many years.

...

There was no strife in this land for nearly two hundred years.
Until, at last, time shifted, and chaos was brought to the Heiwa valley and it's tribes;
From the Earth below, six volcanoes arose, circled around the valley.
And from these volcanoes burst a demon;
The Demon of the Six Suns.

The villages, and their tribes, lay in waste. The Demon was simply too powerful,
and the tribes too weak.
Desperate to save their people, the leaders of each tribe came and met at the temple,
to try and decide what to do.
Would they leave their homeland?
Would they fight back? But how could they? There was none who could face the Demon.
But then, through the door came a warrior.
He slammed his naginata to the ground, the sound ringing through the halls.
"I will face the Demon."
The leaders looked on in shock.
"But who are you? The Demon is no ordinary foe."
"I am no ordinary warrior. My name is Sun Set."
"Your name is very poetic, Sun."
"I am aware."

And so, Sun Set set out to slay the Demon of the Six Suns.

The Demon heard the name of his aggressor from across the valley, and decided he would meet
the fabled warrior in a field north of the temple.
As the Demon walked, he burnt the cherry blossom trees to a crisp, letting the petals
fall to the ground.

Where the warrior met, the ground was covered in pink, the petals giving off
a sweet aroma.
"Your decoration is creative, Demon."
"I try."

The Demon's horn glistened in the sun.
"You are yet to witness my true power, Sun. Gaze upon the apocalypse."
From each of the volcanoes rose a swirling sphere of magma, nearly as large as the sun itself.
The Six Suns swirled around the valley, bathing it in a hot, fiery red light.
The Demon's eyes enlarged, his fangs snarled, his ego enraged.
"There is no hope, for you, or this valley!"

And so the Demon charged, at the speed of a million wasps.

But Sun would see these Suns Set.
He brought the naginata to his chest, preparing to strike with the ancient thrust his
Father had taught him long ago.
The naginata drove through the chest of the Demon.
"I have struck, Demon. Where is your return?"
"You fool! I have no mortal body! Your steel does nothing to me."
The Demon grabbed the handle where Sun's hands were held, and held Sun above him, in the full
strength of the Suns.
"Feel the heat of my Six Suns!"
Six beams of solar energy tore into Sun's body.

The Demon slung Sun to the ground, smoke emanating from his robes.
"Pitiful human."
Sun's fist rose and slammed the ground, knocking the Demon back.
The Demon's eyes grew large as he looked upon Sun.
Sun glowed with a brilliant white luminescence, his naginata glowing just the same.
But alas, he threw away his weapon, and readied his fists.
"I am no human either, Demon."

"But Brother! You were killed long ago, in the Forests of Sorrow!"
"You only thought that, Sun Rise. I am here to fulfill my destiny."
"No! This cannot be true! You're dead!"

Sun Set struck with the strength of six suns, burying the Demon of the Six Suns deep
under the Earth.
To fully lock away his godly power, Set joined his body with Rise, creating a perfectly neutral
being of unearthly might, with little to no opinion on most things.

And so is the legend, of the Demon of the Six Suns.
