The bestia glácies is a top predator and scavenger in the icy tundras of Yakuit, a distant planet.

Because its enviornment is covered in permafrost, the bestia glácies has developed barbs on its hands and feet. Multiple eyes sensitive to infrared radiation gives it the ability to detect small mammals on which it preys on. Despite its menacing appearance, it does not go after large prey. Instead, it uses its tusks and incisors to threaten other males during mating season, and to tear into decomposing carcasses since it's also a scavenger. Because the shape of the mouth can shift into an oval, it's able to easily suck in the intestines of the dead animals it eats.

This beast has also evolved many interesting mechanisms to defeat the cold. Its exoskeleton is hard and thick, making a great barrier from the elements and rough environment. It's also pale, and nearly clear because its blood has no hemoglobin, a remarkable trait generated by the high oxygen content in the planet's atmosphere.
