I came 8th place in the competition! I would like to thank the judges, as well as everyone who supported this skin :D

My attempt at a flaming skeleton/satan/death/thing, for the skin contest.

 

Hope that people like this skin :D

 

Background story:

 Steve thought that he was safe. The enderdragon was dead, the land was safe. Little did he know what would happen next. Suddenly, the sky was ablaze, everything was burning, the trees, the grass, the sky, Steve's house. In shock, he grabbed his diamond armour and sword, and lept out of his house, to find himself looking over the ruins of the once peaceful town he had grown to love. All around him, the bodies of his friends, the testificates, were scattered and broken. Before him stood a lone, skeletal figure, burning from head to toe.

 "I am death" roared the creature, "and now, it is time for you to die..."

 And so the apocalypse began...

I actully quite like the skin that came first, but yeah it was an odd idea with great shading. That's what usually wins :)

yours was better then 3rd by far and u shoulda got 1st place becuz the 1st place in the contest wasent tht great i mean it was good enough for 3rd but thts about it and the 2end place yeah he deserves 2end but 3rd his is retarded in my opion


also i do admit that the back of the hed coulda been a darker flame instead of turning it light i know you was going for a blaze look but evrything else was dark and hellish and cool but that kinda brung to much light into it

I would have loved to be in the top 3, but the other skins were very good. Thanks for the support though :)

And I see what you mean about the back of the head. If I had got round to it, I was thinking of having the bottom of the head a darker fire colour, and having the colour get lighter up the back of the head, so that the top back of the head would be the White part.

Anyway, the skin was one of those skins which redefined the way I make skins, so I really enjoyed making it.

The way I do the colour pallete is that I change the RGB values of each colour by enough to make it look diferent from the last colour.

I don't have the time to give individual skin making tips to each person who asks, so I might make a blog about that sort of thing when I have some time.

Some quick advice to you would be to make your skins a bit smoother, and have the edges of each part in a slightly darker colour.

My entry in the contest, I hope does well, I originally had a really mashed up survivor, but then, after reading what you said, I realized, yea, you're right, there is way too many survivors and zombies. So, I made a mutant, corrupted by demonic power, that's slowly changing. I update it every day, as if it's really changing xD

Thats ok.

I am not very good at giving skinning advice, since I don't have much of a style when I make stuff.

One sugestion I always give is that you need to pick your colours carefully

Your Skins aren't that bad.

My first bit of advice would be to get a just slightly darker colour and colour the edges of each part of the skin. Trust me, it can really help improve a skin
