Dr. Mal E. Volent: a well known and infamous name. Twelve years prior to the Great War of Seven (a worldwide war that ravaged all countries) a young man who had just graduated college was convicted and charged with murder.
The gruesome evidence of the crime was discovered in a secret room in the young man's basement. After all the pieces (almost) were found of the unrecognizably mutilated corpse, the autopsy showed that the victim was none other than the professor of robotics at Grande Charleston University. They later found a small automaton with a few of the professor's fingers screwed to the metal joints that made up the hands of the crude robot.

The young man later escaped from prison only a year into his sixty year sentence. His name: Mal E. Volent. He served as a war-automaton maker for profit for at least six years. When the war ended, he fled from authorities and went into hiding. Today, he is still abroad in the streets, hired by the powerful mafia gang known as the Good Gentlemen. Mal's twisted method of robotics causes him to kidnap human beings and "disassemble" them to use as parts for his automatons and cyborgs. He himself fused a gas mask to his own face to protect his identity, lest the day come when he is once again apprehended.
