This is my entry for the monster in the closet contest. Yeah, this would have been better for the apocalypse contest.
 I am Helen, one of the survivors of the Apocalypse. At least for now. 

Helen's Diary

2/14/27
Today all life became a living hell because of those demon roaches. Those aggressive bastards dug from hell all the way to the surface! They are small but they will not stop until they bite and infect you. If they bite you you are slowly turned into a demon that i don't even want to begin to describe how terrifying they are.

The Apocalypse is going terrible, the demon roaches has been infecting lots of people, luckily it takes a while for the infection takes a while to spread through the entire body. My Mother, Father, brother and I are still not infected however there has been very close calls.

TODAY WAS THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! My Mother and Father went to gather food for the week and when they came back they both had tiny horns on the sides of their heads, which is the first stage of the infection. They didn't want to hurt us so they kissed both of us on the cheek, told me that as a 19 year old i am old enough to protect my brother. I told them i would protect him with my life. They ran out the door as all of us cried - as i said this was the worst day of my life

I am still sad about my parents but starting to get over it.  Today me and my brother, John went outside to gather some food and water when we saw something in the distance. John ran towards the figure as i ran to stop him. As John and I got closer it was someone fully transformed from the infection, a demon! I was about to figure out what a Demon was truly capable of! The demon released demon roaches at john! I jumped in front of the demon roaches. They bit me all over! I lay on the ground unconscious as the virus spread through my body.

Funny how the virus spread, it started at the horns that grew and the demon skin grew over my body unluckily it started spreading over my clothes. Now more than half of my body has been transformed into a demon! I'd hate to do the same thing my parents did to me and John to  him again but i must leave, i cant stay with John, if i do i will be fully transformed into a demon and i will kill John, for i am a monster.
