Rain poured down on me, I was soaked to the bone, my hair was wet and I couldn’t stop shivering, I held on tight to my backpack, staring at the wooden door of the rather abandoned mansion before me, hoping someone inside would open,

I knocked on the door again and waited, taking in a shaky breath, I could hear wolves howling in the distance, the night was cold, and in some ways scary, at least for a nerd like me it was,

I jumped when the door before me opened, revealing an extremely tall, rather young man, I looked up at him and stared, “What do you want?” He demanded, narrowing his eyes, “Uhh… I-i… I g-got l-lost…” I managed out, shuddering,

The young man glared at me for a few moments, before grasping my arm tightly and dragging me brutally inside, “H-hey!” I exclaimed, looking back at him as he closed the door, and turned to me, “Shut up…” he ordered, walking away,

I stayed there, hugging my backpack as I watched him leave, “Follow,” he said, before walking up the broad staircase, I hesitated before quickly jogging after him, looking in all directions,

he reached the top and proceeded down the dark hallway, “E-excuse me?” I asked, breaking the silence, he only groaned in response to that, “Um… w-where a-are you t-taking me to?” I asked, trying to sound as tough as I could, but failing miserably, I was pretty sure, it was clear, that I was terrified of this place and of him,

“You’ll see…” was all he answered, stopping before a large door and opening it, “Get it” he ordered, glaring down at me, I swallowed hard, but walked in anyway, “t-tha-nk you…” I said, smiling a bit up at him, but he only huffed and slammed the door shut,

“W-well… t-that just happened…” I whispered to myself, dropping my backpack on the floor,

“Indeed so, child…” a female’s voice said, “Adrian isn’t the nicest person, but he’s loyal”

I let out a yell as I turned around and met with an older woman sitting by a desk, “W-who…? W-wha?” I gasped out, panting and backing against the wall, “No, no… don’t be afraid, my dear, you’re safe…” she said, slowly standing up and walking towards me,

“Tell me, child… what is your name? and why are you here?” she asked, brushing back my light blond wet hair, “I… I’m G-Gabriel S-Sander… I-I… I w-was l-lost…” I managed, staring at her with wide eyes, “Hm… I see… welcome to my home, Gabriel… I hope you enjoy your stay here…” she said, with a warm smile, “I’ll get one of my maids to show you to your room…” she continued, walking towards the door, and opening it,

A girl was standing there, she had long, deep purple hair with a golden dip, slightly bronze skin, which was partly consumed in light grey, that including part of her right leg, part of her right arm and half her face. Her right eye was bright red while her left one was dark blue.

She wore a light purple blouse with dark blue details, as well as a short dark blue skirt, she had some ribbons on her hair, and wore no shoes,

“Hey” the girl said, giving me a half smile, “h-hi” I said, waving a bit at her, “be a darling and lead Gabriel to a room, will you?” the elder woman asked, with a rather strange smile, the young girl nodded and walked away,

I swallowed hard, grasped my backpack and hurried after the girl, the door closing after I left. The girl didn’t look back at me once, just kept on walking down the dark hallway, the light level was low, making it rather creepy, the paintings of mythical creatures on the walls, only added to the creepy-ness…

“Um… I-I’m Gabriel” I said, closing in to her, totally not because I was terrified of the place, “I know…” she answered, not looking at me, for even a slight second, “Right, a-and… y-you are…?” I asked, “I don’t have a name…” she said, blankly, I frowned at her words, how can someone not have a name?

“S-sorry for asking…” I mumbled, looking down,

she stopped before a door, opened it and walked in, “this is your room…” she said, now finally turning to me, “Uhh…” I looked away from her and scanned the room, it was old-fashioned, and quite dark, “T-thanks” I said, dropping my backpack on the floor and brushing my wet hair away from my face,

the girl with no name, walked towards the bed and sat down, staring at me intensely, “Where are you from?” she asked, blinking at me widely, “Um… I-I’m British” I said, smiling, she hummed in response to that and nodded slowly, “And you?” I asked, taking off my soaked jacket, “Germany” she said, “Oh? Cool!” I exclaimed, grinning at her,

She just smiled back and nodded slowly,

“So… I’m guessing you’re not fully human, yes?” I asked, but she shook her head, “No.” she answered, “huh?” I arched an eyebrow, walking towards her and sitting down beside her,

A tiny five legged insect looking creature, walked out of an open wound on her cheek, “I’m infested…”

(wanted to stop here, with le drama… but for the entry to qualify, I need to write why she was infested so… yeah… ;;)

“W-wha?” I asked, blinking at her, but she just stared at me, tears swam in eyes, making them glimmer. She finally looked down after some time and wrapped her arms around herself, “I-it happened years ago… it was just a normal day… I was walking home from school… and when I got home, my hand started to turn grey, the next day, my hair had turned purple and half my face turned grey as well as my eye became red” she explained,

I frowned, listening to her story, after all it’s not every day you meet a girl like this, it was rather interesting,

“I was starting to slowly feel ill too, so I told my parents and they brought me to a doctor, turns out I was infested by an unknown creature…” she said, gesturing to the tiny spider-looking creature on her shoulder, “I only have a few years left before I…” she paused as a few tears rolled down her cheeks,

I tried saying something, but only weird sounds came out, so I just stared at her, my own eyes watering a bit, “I… I’m so sorry…” I said, resting my hand on her shoulder as the spider-looking creature hurried to enter the wound on her cheek again,

“It’s okay…” she said, drying her tears and looking at me, “No one will notice I was ever gone…” she said, smiling sadly, I frowned at that, “I would…” I said, later realizing what I had said and blushing lightly, that sounded so stupid,

She stared right at my soul for a few moments, before standing up, “I’ll see you around…” she said, walking to the door and opening it, she paused and looked back at me, now half smiling, “Thank you”
