Lelouch vi Britannia is the exiled son of the 98th Emperor of the Holy Brittanian Empire Charles zi Britannia and the deceased Lady Marianne the Flash. After his mother's tragic death at the hands of murderers, his future was stolen from him along with his sister Nunnally's sight and use of her legs. His father sent him to Japan as a political hostage, there he lived with the Houses of Kyoto until Britannia invaded the Japanese islands for their natural resources. After a month long war Japan was stripped of not only it's independence but also it's pride and name, now dubbed Area 11 Japan's resources allowed Britannia to attack the other world superpowers.
After the war, Lelouch could no longer live with the Houses of Kyoto he and his sister were sheltered by the Ashford family, his mother's family who also allowed him to go to school at the Ashford academy. Life once again peaceful for the exiled siblings for several years until Area 11's governments secret project Code-R's test subject, C.C. winds up in his hands and gives him the power of Geass, the ability to have complete control over another person's mind. His destiny now becomes a wild ride to the goal of destroying Britannia and creating a world of peace were he and his beloved sister Nunally can live in peace. In this world he will create armies, destroy families and fight his oldest friend.
