Woot! It's a cartoony robot from Doctor Who! Doo-wee-dooooooooo!
Ok, enough of the over the top excitment. As you may or may not know, there was an plot in Doctor Who called Underworld. In this story plot, the Doctor materalizes on an alien spaceship. Eventually the crew accept him and tell him of their mission. As the story progresses, the spaceship is caught in a planet's gravity field and drawn into it. They then discover that an entire civilization is living in this underground world. But the majority of them are slaves controled by cloth-clad overlords. The story progresses further until these overlords uncover their faces to reveal a robotic face with 3 red 'eyes' and vents for their mouth and ears. This is the climax of the story and I wouldn't give away the ending. ;)
But it's these 'aliens/robots' were what really captured my interest. Even before their faces were revealed, they were cool. And once the hoods were taken off, they became even cooler. I would definately say that I would like to see these aliens return to Doctor Who.
For reference, the story is "Underworld". It can be found in Season 15 of Doctor Who with the amazing Tom Baker playing the Doctor.
While many of you will say "This doesn't look underground-ish!", I do agree. It doesn't look like something from underground. But following the story, it is! And very deep underground mind you. Basically the center of the earth. So take it or leave it, it doesn't bother me. I had a great time recreating one of my favourite Doctor Who aliens.
