Nam Devorantem

"Nam Devorantem"
Translation (from Latin to English): "For the Devourer"

...The endermen vanished into wisps of purple and black smoke, dancing violently around Andre, collectively assembling a force which then dunked Andre into one of the towering obsidian chimneys that were common to this dimension, almost as if a giant enderman had assumed he was block and lodged him into the ground with unknown purpose. The End wasn't merely a place for exploration in hopes of finding a lost trove or a grand end-game adventure (as widely desired as it was for such a concept), but rather possessed a dark psychological adventure--the challenge to keep one's mind afloat in a whirlpool of muted chaos and the unknown, gasping for reality.

His world collapsed into darkness... not much of a surprise to Andre's heightened vision, he always had an ability to adapt to the darkness, as if no amount of darkness could ever affect his travels, but there was no use this time. The darkness absorbed his senses, depriving him from his sight. Reality had been deafened. Everything was dark, except for none figure in the distance... and like a fly to a lantern, Andre drew closer to the light source, glowing faint with red.

From behind, drooped the iconic essence of the creeper, further exaggerated in the depressions of its skull. It took the form of a skeleton, bones overgrown, draped with dark, sanguine strands of muscle wrapped in what appeared to be three exposed spines, vertically aligned in the makeup of its two arms and the center of his body. Not a sound could be heard, except for Andre's own yielding footsteps toward the still creature.

Andre, armed with a diamond sword, wanted to make sure that it wasn't active, as obvious as it seemed that it was,by rounding about the creature to see if it would move. Not a sound was made, but the creature did, indeed, move. The being faced him wherever he went, glowing with an greater intensity of red than before.

A strike was lunged at the creature, about to make impact. Then out came the words, "NAM DEVORANTEM!" echoing to and from every part of Andre's body, spoken by its creeper-like face, deafening his senses and provoking utter terror. Assuming all that it said, the being probably possessed the name as Nam Devorantem, revoking the entity of a creature, it was a demon!

Andre recalled a similar story told by the elders a few visits back in none of the NPC villages, now a dreadful reality. They said that it had two jaws with teeth swarming its enormous gums and other strands of muscle, two skulls for faces, one for a head and the other in its upper chest, and 2 beady red eyes in each skull, capable of eating every part of your being, not just physically. It could eat your legs in one mouth and your arms in the other, until eventually you died simply by going into shock while being devoured, bled to death from the process, or was thrown flung the sky if one had equipped himself with a special offering. And if one were lucky enough to live when launched into the sky, would go face to face with The Devourer, which in modern times were known as an Ender Dragon, or perhaps a more sinister monster. Whomever came after surviving Nam Devorantem was a vague memory to the elders. Essentially, it didn't matter, the elders vaguely remember the whole thing based on their past lives, for whom all died in the journey.

A few more pops in Nam's bones and it began to breath all around him effortlessly, as if it could smell with its gaping jaws. It snatched Andre up into the air, before he could even begin to react, and punched him out of the obsidian chimney with enough force to lose nearly all of his contents, most of his health, and his memory...

Skin Commentary:
Normally, anything I make tends to have some form of inspiration or texture from another source... But fortunately, this skin, given the countless hours of a good weekend's time, was made completely from scratch! =D

Originally, the name was generated from the words, "Scary Devourer." But when I translated it from Latin to English, the translation held a much darker meaning... "For the Devourer"... oh whatever, dark karma, Happy Halloween!

Also, I could have used a layer around its head for added depth, but I knew that if I did add a layer, then whomever wore a helmet with the skin would have had pixels jetting outside of the helmet! However, after looking at the other finalists above me, it would appear that a second layer would have given me an advantage after all. So if one of you guys are going to enter in a skin contest in the future, I'd recommend giving it a second layer.
