The design on the actual skin isn't bad, but the shading could be better

The style you are using would make the source of light (i.e the Sun) at his feet, and only shining on his torso

While this isn't bad, you should try experimenting with light hitting him straight on, and it distributing itself around the skin evenly

I am going to be straight forward, i have no idea what i'm doing 90% of the time when i'm shading. I just make the shading as i want it. I mean i can work on it but i can't garantee anything.

None of us do when we start out, believe me.

Just try making the center of his torso the lightest, and go out from there

Just to give some background info on why it was made the way it was; I had this skin already made and so i just shaded the skin, hair, and hat of it. The shirt was already like that and i wasn't sure what to do about the grey undershirt and pants. I just wanted a tiny tweak for now. I mean I JUST started getting into shading so everything will be coming together as time goes on as you pretty much said.

I know you mean well. I know a lot of people mean well. And I just need practice. I mean I've made so many skins that weren't shaded that i'm still in the experimental stage of things. Thanks for the advice.
