Backstory

He is known by many names...Sir Obscure, the mustached defender, the hipster hero, the Golden Mustache...but before Sir Obscure became the crime-fighter he is today, he was simply known as a regular boy named Jake. Jake had always had a knack for knowing what would be trendy before it became trendy, so as he grew older he naturally gravitated towards the hipsters in his town. He knew just what to wear and how to act, but there was something lacking that kept him from being accepted by the other hipsters... the pitiful stubble growing out above his lip. Oh how Jake longed for a true, glorious, hipster mustache! He slathered it with oils, creams, tonics, balms...anything he could get his hands on that might make it grow...but it never worked.

One day, the hipsters decided to ride their fixed-speed bikes to the old abandoned factory and take some pictures. Feeling pity for the mustache-less Jake, they invited him along. This factory had been abandoned since the end of the cold war, and no one in town was really sure what had been manufactured there... all they remembered was that official-looking men had patrolled the outside and not allowed anyone in. Jake and the hipsters arrived and parked their bikes outside. They grabbed their Holga cameras and some PBR, climbed the fence, and began exploring inside.

Perhaps they underestimated how much PBR they were drinking, but it didn't take long before they became careless and started climbing around the old machinery. Suddenly, one of the hipsters fell onto an old, rusted lever. The force of the fall pushed the lever on, and a terrifying whirring began to emit from the machinery! A blinding blue ray of light burst forth, hitting the hipsters and immediately knocking them back, dead. The ray hit Jake directly on the lip, but instead of killing him, something amazing happened. The oils and creams on his upper lip refracted the ray of light and scattered it all over his body. A surge of energy pulsed over him and he was magically lifted into the air.

Jake must have passed out, because he awoke the next morning slumped on the ground. Something felt weird... he went to rub his face, but instead of feeling skin his hand touched something hairy... in an instant Jake realized it was a huge, blond, glorious mustache! The memories of last night flooded back when he felt it, and he quickly sprang up and looked for the way out of the factory. To his amazement he noticed something else, though. He saw where his can of PBR had fallen and spilled onto the floor, but where the liquid should have been there was a glowing blue crystal. He picked up the crystal and immediately felt that same surge of energy through his body. Incredibly, his hands and feet began to emit blue flames, and when he started to run home he realized he was going much faster than he should have been.

Confused and scared, Jake went into hiding as he tried to come to terms with his new-found identity. He couldn't understand who he was or come to terms with the responsibilities now resting on him. Finally, though, after witnessing all of the crime and terror the streets had to offer, he shed his old identity and fully became who he was meant to be: Sir Obscure, the hipster hero!

Abilities and Powers

Sir Obscure is the owner of the Justache (mustache of justice). Growing from his face, the Justache is completely impenetrable. It can deflect bullets and other projectiles. When Sir Obscure is wearing his retro tortoiseshell lenseless glasses, they touch the Justache and are imbued with special powers. They allow Sir Obscure to spot crime from miles away, through any surface or obstacle.

Sir Obscure is also the owner of the PBR (Powerful Blue Ray) Crystal, which he keeps attached to the back of his suspenders at all times. When in contact with it, blue flames emit from his hands and feet and give him the ability of super speed and super-fast punches.

Logo

Sir Obscure's logo is a glowing mustache on the front of his shirt, representing the Justache. When he is running at super speed, all people around him can see is the flash of gold from his logo along with the blue flames of his hands and feet.

TLDR version: He's got a mustache of justice (justache)! And a PBR (Powerful Blue Ray) crystal! He can punch things! He's awesome!
