While the Clone Wars is coming to an end, Anakin is tortured by several repeated nightmares, like those that preceded the death of his mother. This time, it was his wife Padme is in danger. In an opera, his friend Chancellor Palpatine tells him about an ancient legend Sith, which describes the story of Darth Plagueis, capable of controlling the life, death to avoid it. Anakin looks hopelessly to know, that would save Padmé. So when Palpatine is revealed to be Darth Sidious himself, Anakin, conscious of hurting but tortured by the possible death of his wife, is recovering at his teaching. After Mace Windu sentenced to death, he was made Lord Sith by his new master, and becomes Darth Vader.
To prove to his master's undivided loyalty in his new allegiance, he went to the Jedi Temple to kill all the knights present. Accompanied by thousands of clone troopers he killed Cin Drallig, renowned Jedi Master, and all the Jedi Temple, both teachers, that apprentices. Most of the Jedi Knights are valid far from Coruscant, young Jedi had their training interrupted. Even the most skillful masters of lightsaber can not resist Anakin Skywalker and the stormtroopers of the 501st Legion. No knight, no child will survive the carnage. Sidious convinces his new apprentice that the murder of those he loves one step closer to the powers conferred on the Dark Side of the Force. The Jedi must die first - all the Jedi.
He then went on Mustafar, chaotic planet become permanently shaken by volcanic eruptions, where the separatist leaders met. He takes care of removing all, ending the Clone Wars, giving way to the supremacy of the Empire.
Always on Mustafar, Darth Vader strangles his wife Padmé but does not kill it (she later died because she no longer wants to live), convinced she had come to kill him, along with Obi-Wan. Follows a mythical fight between him and his former master. Obi-Wan, who sought to bring his old friend on the right side, lost all hope. He finally tore his two legs and an arm...
The life of Darth Vader begins where that of Anakin Skywalker ends..
