Iridescent Dreams was made for the 'Sexy Palette Contest' (I'm not making that name up, btw) using a grand total of 16 colors. That's right, only 16 colors for the whole darn thing. We were given the palette below and tasked with making a texture pack from it. Moron that I am, I decided to give it a try. Iridescent Dreams was the result.

The Color Palette

NOTES:
  • Yes, this pack is very bright. Yes, some of the color combinations are strange. Perils of not being able to chose my own colors. However, after you get used to the brightness I think you'll find that this pack can be rather pleasing. :3
  • I might update the color palette at some point in the future to include more colors, but I'm not making any promises.
  • Updates (when and if they come) will be determined entirely by the whim of my inspiration. This pack was made solely for shits and giggles, and I don't see it turning into a full-blown overhaul of minecraft. I will only add things if I get the overwhelming desire to make them. I do, however, plan to finish the terrain.png.
  • Feedback is appreciated! This monster of a pack was one long exercise in color theory, and I'd appreciate your thoughts on how well I managed to beat the color palette into submission.
  • No, I'm not going to make it less bright. At least, not any time soon. See the first two notes.

Yes, it is 1.2.4 compatible. It says so right in the title.

And it doesn't need to be updated for 1.2.5-- no new textures were added.

Wrong, use GLSL Shader, and optifine!GLSL adds shadows, waving grass, etc.
Then combine with MATMOS, which adds 
atmospheric sounds.

Nice texture pack.
You did a really good job, and the blocks are even with the color palette good.
One thing I really like about it is the "remix". Some Blocks are quite realistic, others, like the bricks, look a little bit comic styled. 
Really like it, giving diamond and a fav :3
