Dear fellow Minecraft Lovers! I, Skyrocket_Moon, am excited to present to you 4 Real. I'm a college graduate with a minor in art! Just informing that this is better than the typical pack. It is made specifically for 512, 1GB graphics cards.No bury re-sized pictures from some 128 pack. All from scratch. I have put in effort and time, two months on this. In other words, lots of research has been compiled into the making of this texture pack. As an example the stone I used is a African stone noted for is smooth qualities and cave like texture. I have also put in extensive attention to details like oak leaves on oak trees  and actual wood from a caesalpinia tree type that are commonly found in the jungles for the jungle trees. This texture pack utilizes over 15 free texture and stock photo sites if your curious check out the rights in the pack to see all of these listed. This project is not finished but you can expect more top quality as I am still currently working on it. It is finished enough to be enjoyable, I wouldn't post it if it wasn't.

Before you click download! you need both files  4 Real and 4 Real Part 2.
Why two? because I cant upload it as one file it is to big! but it runs fine.
Download 4 Real and 4 Real part two. Take the files in part two and drop them into the 4 Real zip.
That's all you got to do! It's that simple if it prompts you to overwrite do it.  If you need help just post! :)

ps, Optifine needed and this .bat (The .bat makes java run 2gb of ram so it wont crash trying to load the massive file.)  *if you want my stars you will need better sky's patch from MCPatcher. and you can just add optifine as a mod in the patcher.  Be sure to turn off MCPatchers HD, HD Font, Better Grass, and Conected Textures. (Rest of the features will be used later on as I continue to update the pack, so leave them checked.)
If you don't want mcpatcher and still want to know how to install optifine>(youtube how to install optifine)
The .bat File needs to be next to your Minecraft.exe (It looks like a grass block.)
Example grass block is on your desktop then the .bat needs to be on the desktop, if grass block in a folder then .bat needs to be in that folder. (not the shortcut the main block icon/right click shortcut icon, Open file Location.)
Once you have these you can double click the .bat and it will run java and open up Minecraft that means it works!
And yes you do need to leave the java open but you can down size it if it bothers you just don't close it or Minecraft closes.  On a additional note you never have to download the .bat again there's no updating on it as long as you don't delete it.
Extra: if .bat doesn't work make sure you have the latest java version.
 
For those new to installing a texture pack here are the steps.
1. double click the .bat opens up Minecraft then once logged in click on the Texture Pack button.
2. On the bottom Click on Open texture pack folder.
3. Drag the 4 Real Zip into that folder (just drag and drop) and your done click done.
Takes 3 minutes ruffly for it to load it in it is a big file but 1gb graphics card can easily handle this.

What is your graphics card? You can find out through GPU-Z  just google that program and download it.
It tells you everything about your graphics card and you should be able to see if your card is a 1gb or not :)

For Best Quality and Performance!
Log into minecraft (.bat way of course) click on Options/ video settings/ details/ Clouds: Fast, Grass: Fancy, Trees: Fancy, Water:Fancy, Rain:Fast, done. 
Video Settings/Quality/ Mipmap: Off, Mipmap Type: Linear, Ani: OFF, ANT:Off, Better Grass:OFF,Everything else On, Connected Textures:Fast, Done.
Video settings/ Graphics: Fancy! Advance Open GL:FANCY! also:
When using "Chunk Loading: Multi-Core" make sure to Disable "Threaded Optimization" / "OpenGL Threading"  in the graphics card control panel (example).   When I use the optifine multi-core option I get 102fps with this pack.
Its a good idea for you to mess around with its settings to get the best quality from the pack for your pc! :)
Oh yah! and you will need to restart minecraft after or you will get the see through floors that comes with any load change.

new water! ignore the lines under the spray thats caused by un-updated optifine mixed with mcpatcher bad mix.

Fixed the vingette in 4 Real Part2.
Vingette is the shadow that is casted on your screen when you go inside of dark caves or homes even when well lit.
I was working on mobs and found this problem with my pack so I have changed it.
Now the vignette wont show up when in lit homes and caves but will show up in unlit caves like its suppose to.

I can't seem to get this to work because the .bat file keeps opening in notepad.  I've tried going in to file associations and changing the default program that opens it but I don't know what program I'm supposed to use to open it.  I also tried opening and saving the file as "all other" instead of .txt.  The only forum post I found in my search that said what program to use said command.com from the system 32 folder but I don't have a command.com file.  What should I do?

it is just a txt file  that is saved as a .bat
all it is is this line in the txt:
javaw -Xmx2048m -Xms2048m -jar "Minecraft.exe"
saved as file name  run.bat
a up to date java will recognize it automaticly as a batch file
so first check java for new update 2nd save the file again as run.bat
and if it doesn't work check windows 32 for updates on batch files.

As far as Google, I say good luck taking a image and instant matching it from there. Get better results in finding the image parts I used looking through the set of free and payed images through stock sites. I have listed links from images are provided in my rights document in the download and granted permissions for my use.

MCPatcher uses 520,000K of ram when running through javaw.exe

I run the game from the bat file after closing MCPatcher. As soon as I hit login and the Mojang loading screen comes up the system starts using 2.6Gigs of ram through javaw.exe. Is this normal? It takes a while for the game to load and computer becomes a bit unresponsive while doing so. I would say about a minute or two.

I go to the options and change the first set according to your directions. I then click on mipmap type: and nothing happens except that my computer becomes unresponsive. I try clicking on done or exiting the program by clicking x. I can hear the sound of my clicking on done or trying to choose linear a few minutes later. Finally I just alt ctrl del and end task.

Back in the options again. MipMap Linear was apparently changed but didn't show until restarting the game. Javaw.exe is constantly 2.6-2.7Gigs. After about 20 minutes of messing around with options and waiting for computer to be responsive again I've finally got the quality settings like you've described. The only time the game is unresponsive in the menu is under "Quality" in the menu.

Is this behavior normal? Should the game be running with this much memory just in the menu?

I've now launched the game with everything appearing to be correct. My fps is all over the place from 20s to 50s. I've also tried disabling threaded optimization. I'm running 16GB of ram with an i5 2500k @ 4.8Ghz. I've got two 580 GTX FTWs and have tried with both running and just one. There isn't a game out I can't live stream without a capture card @ >60FPS in 1080.

With multi-core enabled for chunk loading and disabling vsync (I typically play with vsync on in games to minimize frame tearing on a 50") I'm getting fps as low as 18 but usually stays in the upper 100s but all over the place. All in all the game looks much better than it did when trying it out on a cracked version. I do appreciate the time you've put into creating this texture pack. If you have any ideas on how to improve my performance I would be highly grateful.

I've taken some screenshots. Standing in front of the water here seems to drop FPS to 20s but it doesn't appear to actually be 20 and can't see a difference between 20 and upper 100s like I do in other games. ÃÃÃàhttp://i.imgur.com/mrUhS0x.jpg

Everything seemed OK moving around the starting point in the city of this server. When I went into the wilderness I came across a mob that froze my computer up for a few seconds. I then killed it and those mobs didn't freeze me anymore. I went into an underground cave and all seemed good. I then came back to the surface and started exploring outwards and thats when fps started dropping to 2 and I had to come back to where I came from for the problem to resolve. Any Ideas? àJavaw.exe is now using over 3Gigs of memory.

After placing the entire .minecraft folder on a ramdisk the problems have mostly gone away. I now have fps consistently over 300 and often in the 400s peaking in 500s just above ground. Even higher below ground. Occasionally it drops to 0 and freezes for a brief moment.

ok back after running it on my system to see how much it takes its 1222Mb of used memory
fps is still around 66, 67.
and it looks like it still works with the optifine and mc patcher links i have provided.
are you trying to run it on a multiplayer server? Since that also takes more use on your system and slows things down.

Here is what my system is and maybe from there you can find out if its just ram or some other issue.
i5 cpu 3gz, 8GB ram, windows 7 64bit, 560gtx 2GB.
:/ wish i could be more of help but unless i was over your shoulder I'm not really good at type instructions other than what i have already provided.

all i can think of is maybe a new optifine or patcher is happening now giving problems.

Hey Skyrocket... I saw you mention something about tweaking the Optifine or not installing it correctly? I took the steps you mentioned in the description to set up your texture pack... though when i play the game my FPS goes crazy. It literally fluctuates from around 125 fps to 5 fps (granted this also seems to reflect how much the game is trying to load). Now the reason i bring this up is because my system shouldn't really have that much of a problem running your texture pack. I'm running a GEforce 560Ti and 8g of ram with a 2.8g 6core processor

make sure Video Settings/QualityAnisotropic filtering: OFF, Antialiasting:Off,
lets see render distance: normal +80
That's about all I can think of that will affect that
and remember to close down minecraft and log back in.
Should deffenutly work no problem with your set up.
It's kind of strange your system set up is better than mine. lol I'm just a  5 core.
Try updating your graphic driver too wouldn't hurt.
That's really about all I can think of.
Ohh... it might just be that too. If this doesn't work it might just be optifine hasnt updated multi core for 6core systems >.< you may have to run it without multi core if that is the case I would change it to default and not smooth because smooth with stick it at 25fps all the time and make it look like crap. The water needs to have 30 fps for it to look right. This is why a lot of people don't like the water lol. Thier pc just can't handle it.

Just a quick question maybe someone on here has run into this issue i dont know. I got this texture pack working find but my friend after getting everything installed and running the bat, the prompt closes instantly which i know means it is getting an error but thus far we havent been able to get an error read out even when manually launching through the command prompt. Any ideas why it would be closing out on him like that?

Yah I was still peiceing him together took me a week then I got tired of it, wanted to fool the eye with the legs but instead the legs fooled me. So I was like eh I'll work on it another time moved on to the chicken. Chicken didn't take me nearly that long to put it together.
But like I said packs still a wip(work in progress) doesn't mean its going to stay that way.
There's things I want to rework but as soon as I stop with putting the basic structure together, it will never get done. I get too into nitpicking it to finish working on the other textures.

Not going to make it that small it will just become pixel blur at that size. Misa's pack is best at that size, anything specifically hand drawn that small is best.
I do plan on resizing it to 256 and 128 but only after I finish making mobs and then updating it to 1.5 on its release. I have a lot still to make its still a wip. I want to finish it before resizing it or it will take to much time continuously updating all of them.

haha weak system set up does that so does  a badly installed optifine.
Tell me what your computer graphics card is and how much ram you have.
I'll beable to tell you whether its just some tweaks need to be made with optifine to get it to run.

Don't like it? Was making it so that it would truly look like reflecting waving water. It's really hard to do. It was much worse when I was first working with it. I'm sure it will look better as i work with this pack more over the years right now its still wip with the mobs being made. Looks amazing when you sail on it and in ponds.

Yep I remember you. As far as the tnt crash it's nothing I can do about it that's just a conflict between your computer and mojang. I test blew 30 tnt and didn't crash so I know its not the texture pack. The TnT explosion texture is not a full 512 its a 128, so it's not about it's size either. There's really not much I can help with you there. Wish I could help but I don't work for mojang and fix bugs. :/

WOW!... I'm speechless. This texture pack is definitely the most impressive out of all that I have seen. I don't think my computer is powerful enough to handle it but I'm gonna try it anyway.  Either way the video was VERY convincing. :)

When do you plan on having it ready for the current snapshot?

xD Thank you! I worked really hard on this I'm glad you like it too. Your 16x pack is very good realistic pack I could never work that small and have it look so good, I'm impressed by your work too.
I'm putting the snapshot aside going to wait till 1.5 release since I'm still in progress with making the mobs. I guess you can say I'm working up to the last minute on this.

Looks like the work converting to the current snapshot can be done for you with the click of a button by using Unsticher . It was brought to my attention on another texture packs' comment list by babbajagga.

Unsticher is downright awesome! It cuts up your terrain.png and items.png into the appropriate sized images and even creates the new folders for you as well. Effectively creating a copy of your texture pack that is compatible with the snapshot. All you got to do is add your old terrain.png and items.png back into the new pack that it creates in order to keep it backwards compatible.

This is now SUPER helpful for me when downloading texture packs I want to try out but aren't compatible with the snapshot. Which is almost all of them. :) Now I can make them compatible with a click of a button!

I'm letting you know because I didn't know about it when I converted my texture pack. To say the least it was a HUGE pain to do it manually.

This cow is taking me a while to make just this mob but its coming along and its looking amazing so far. I have really been focusing on the detail of it. I don't have image of it yet to show considering its still in pieces and parts on multiple layers,...56 layers lol but its entering the final stage with me working on her underbelly, utters, and horns. I'm hoping to be done with her tomorrow and add in the first mob the cow, but I'm not going to rush it.

This is beautiful! My favourite texture pack... ever. Can I ask, other than the ice texture, which 14 textures are the stock photo's?

well there rgbstock.com which I got my foods from/compass/dial/fish.
deviant
artists have free textures got the steel,snow,car glass and ice mix for
diamond armor, oh yes and chain mail. leather.they have a lot of really
good texture artists.
Things like the wood, minecart railing, note
block are images I have taken from around my home. wood is from my deck
its stained wood it and I manipulated it, railing is from my toy train
tracks its franks winter time its express super old, the noteblock is a
image from my ceiling fan :O cool huh? Oak leaves are from my back yard
:D tho its just one leaf I used.

123RF.com I bought my tree textures from there and patterned shaded it so its seamless.
lets
see turbosquid.com has a few tumbnails that are free they also have
realy big high def photos that are WAY to expensive. got moss from them.
Freegreatpicture.com got me ink and quill. they have alot of cool stuff.
Trying to remember what all I got where.
cobble
stone wall, is from some cobble stone company, i cant remember which
one  i cut out 4 stones cut them in half reshaped and colored and pieced
those stones together to form the seamless wall, so I can't even began
to look for where the original is on it. It's no longer what it was.
Same
with that African stone I can't seem to be able to find where I found
it. It has changed to much to be found lol. Made it into a totaly
different texture than where it began.
The endstone and stone slab and piston are from The Stone Company! <3
I
have mostly just listed the places that I have gotten images from but I
have forgotten where each was from where because I visited so many of
them to find particular things.

You did so much, and yes this does quench my curiosity thirst. I am amazed at how much research and referencing you have done. 


The ceiling fan for the noteblock is inspiring, I hope this doesn't come across patronising, but I am really impressed, you have your new number one fan. (No pun intended) :D

Thanks :) I hope to enspire more people when I'm finished with the first set of mobs to, tho I cant say they will be free stock, animal images arn't easy without infringing copy rights. right now im looking up animal fur brushes to help ease out the copyrights.
Tho I do have a really nice fur throw I bought at wallmart during Christmas that I am probly going to use alot for the wolf and cats. Right now I'm working with the cow since rgbstock has the high def cow skin.

The mob textures will complete the pack, as far as generals go, but I plan on doing special things to it like make more random mobs and plants and connected glass textures, even some animations like making pumpkin look like a real lit pumpkin.

I hope so too. xD If not your going to have to wait for when I'm done
with the mobs before I make smaller versions of it. I will do a 256 and
128 but not going smaller than that because the quality will no longer
be visible and will just become blur colors.

They took his pack down finally and now I feel like I can actually work on the mobs. Seeing my stuff stolen and claimed is heart breaking and makes me not want to work because I don't want to see my 3 months of none stop work in the hands of money making thieves. I am searching for his face on Facebook and find out who he is so I can get government officials on him, and in court. Got any tips? let me know!

I do have a server but we dont have it set up with my pack as the universal texture on it, since its a payed for server. um as far as reviews go, I'm sorry but I'm really looking for some one who has done them before, as well as have videos that are put together well.

still there and they haven't removed him. So please help me out and flag

If I could just stop boating on my water I can continue to work on the
mobs but dang my waters so much fun to boat on, even I'm addicted to my
own pack lol. I would diamond myself but apparently doing that, it takes
diamonds off instead of adding one. *sad face*

It is for 1.4.7,  so what is this 2.0?  I'm confused lol.  I know the snapshot releases are out but to be honest I can't do anything untill 1.5 is released.
Maybe you can help me out and let me know what it is exactly I can do?

Water is fixed please download and if you dont like I will beat you with my angle fish,it still has kinks but its enjoyable now look into the ocean and not die from it! tho, it really wasn't that bad.

Its really awesome for boating makes you feel like your riding the waves.

Ok! I admit it didn't take me a week to get the water looking better Two
and a half days D: still it was a lot of angry fist pumping and  head
to keyboard bashing. But everything turned out fine and I hope you guys
enjoy the effort! > or I will beat you guys with my pet angelfish. grr...

It is getting uploaded so please enjoy your search engines in the mean time, lol.

I cant tell how long it will take the 16% is covering the minutes but my guess is like 25mins.

How can they not be good?  Iron is  Steel. A real image of steel made seamless, Diamond real image reworked to be a block and Lapilazui is a image of a smooth lapiz stone not seamless.
I would truly like to see you make it look more real than a true real texture from camera footage!
 I would have to name you Deraudifan_God! If you succeed! be like something out of the 7th dimension.

Now the black wool I can kind of understand the texture isn't from a image, made that myself, but its texture is exactly the same as all the others so why just that one? lol that's a mind trip for me why one out of all of them.

let me also educate you a bit here too, iron reprocessed with other materials makes steel, hence why the block is steel and not unrefined iron, cause it takes Iron to make it! :)

I do have some better looking water that has finally been rendered
however near the ocean i get about 25fps with it LOL >.> dang it.
so now I'm trying to find away to render it shorter so it doesn't hang
up the frame rate so much. but it looks so pretty, compared to the last
one! *picture*
Ok nvm my performance was just set to 25 I've brought it up to 50fps so isn't the water hurray.
I'm currently working on fixing the flowing water, pun intended.

sorry to hear that i will be making a smaller version if i can fix up the water and finish making the mobs. right now the water keeps making me bang my head on the table, i dont know why but it isnt rendering the way I want it to.
