For centuries, the endlessly-tiling geometrical patterns of Arabesque architecture have symbolized the infinite nature of the universe. In this texture pack, they’re a reflection of the limitless worlds generated by Minecraft. Patterns inspired by Moorish, Persian, and Arabian motifs are most evident in sandstone, brick, glass, iron and gold blocks, lapis lazuli, and lightstone.

Additional Details

Note: Some of the fine detail in these textures can cause noise and aliasing in distant landscapes. These visual artifacts can be eliminated using Optifine (AKA Optifog/Optimine) with mipmapping enabled.

Is this going to be updated for 1.2.5?  It's absolutely gorgeous, but the lack of some textures kind of ruins it.

Hi, I am making a texture pack that is a mix of the most popular texture packs and I was wondering if you minded if I use some things in your texture pack for it. I will give you credit where it is due, I will not lie saying I made the things from your texture pack. If you do say no I won't use your texture pack. Please try to get back to me a soon as possible. Thanks.

I just re-tested it on a fresh install of Beta 1.7.3 with mcpatcher 2.1.0_02 and a copy of the 1.2 pack downloaded from here. Everything worked, but I did need to download the pack twice -- the first download stalled out and left me with a corrupted zip. Could the same have happened to you? The complete zip should have a file size of 6,247,098 bytes and an MD5 checksum of de96942cef30f0c131d185e9e213d576.

Some of the textures can be a bit noisy at a distance (especially the grass), but overall this is one of the most beautiful packs out there. The mobs and items are generally unchanged (though the sword is changed to a nifty scimitar), but everything from the terrain sheet is richly patterned and detailed. Even though each color of wool has a slightly different pattern, they match up nicely at the edges, and the paintings match up seamlessly to create tapestries of any size and shape. I especially love the very unique breaking pattern and the way the water and lava seem to sparkle. Even the sand seems to shimmer at certain angles.

If you haven't downloaded this, you should. I'd suggest finding another 32x32 pack and nicking some nice skins to stick in the mobs folder, though.
