I am no longer working on this texture pack! You all may use this texture pack and modify it as you please.

I'm open to any ideas and suggestions! If I take any advice, no matter how much of it I use, I promise I will give credit where it is due. In my very first attempt at creating a texture pack, I wanted to go for something that was both simplistic and fantastically freaking awesome. One night, while enjoying some classic NES nostalgia, it hit me. What better way to learn the basics of developing a texture pack than to base it off something you love? Well, Super Mario Bros. is the game that nearly my entire childhood revolved around. This texture pack contains the basic sprites that pieced together one of the most amazing video games in history. Except this time, they're in 3D and you can mine them! However, since Minecraft has so many more blocks than SMB has sprites, the perfect opportunity arose for me to put my creativity to the test as well. I had to limit this, however, to a simple and basic 8-bit feel. Basic is perfect for one just learning right? I hope you all will get as much enjoyment out of playing it as I have spent the time creating it. Keep your eyes on this page! It shouldn't take me very long to complete this pack once all the item sprites are completed! Feedback, suggestions & criticism are gladly accepted and appreciated.

Signatures, Screens & Videos. Oh my! - Posted to logs 10/18/2012

Closer to 100% completion of this project, I'll be looking towards getting word of it out to the web. I strongly encourage anyone who feels the urge to make a video, screenshot, forum signature or some other form of support to share with me. I'd be more than welcome to placing your media on this page & giving shoutouts to the creators, so that others might recognize their projects as well. This way we can build a connected system of support so that all our projects may prosper on this site and beyond! These media files will be shared on websites all over, not only by me, but by other users of this site; I personally will make sure that anyone who sees this project will know the media contributors and how they've helped. Hello everyone! It feels like a while since I've updated, but a few more mobs have been skinned, including the Blaze, Ozelot, Cats and Ghast. What's even better is that a HUD has now been made! Check it out and tell me what you think. On another note, dirt has been simplified a bit in this update; I'm currently working on a better way to texture that, so look forward to it in the next update, along with a re-texture of signs.

Progress is steady, the Ender Dragon skinning is nearly complete. I was aiming to have this pack completed sometime in this past week, but my schedule didn't allow me to line it up that way. Anywho, with 1.4 being out now, I'll be needing to go back and add in the new items and make any necessary corrections to the texture pack. I'll be sure to have this thing released as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

It's almost done! All the only real hurdle that's left is skinning the Ender Dragon, but I've also been considering taking another look at the particles. Tell me what you all think! There's been a slight issue, and I've fallen behind schedule. A good chunk of the mobs were completed today, but there are still a few that have yet to be completed. I apologize for that, but you can expect 100% completion sometime during this week. The exact day will depend on how heavy my workload from school is. Once again, I apologize for the daily. Now, some good news! The sign texture has been fixed, so you should be able to read your text now! Also, the graphics for bows and arrows have been changed to better fit the Super Mario feel. Enjoy, and look forward to another update soon!

The mobs are halfway completed! My biggest issue so far is working out the Ender Dragon textures, but once that's figured out, it should all be smooth sailing! Also, I noticed that text is kind of hard to read on signs, but don't worry, that should be fixed before full release.

Everything has been completed now, with exception of the mobs. This project is moving along rather nicely. That being said, I am encouraging your feedback, comments and criticism on anything in this pack. It will help to further the development of the pack. The item sprites have been completed, finally! I will probably make some updates to them later on, the mob eggs appear a bit odd to me, and many of the sprites, I feel, lack creativity. Mobs are next. Stay tuned!

I would like to thank this community for the support so far! It's very encouraging that this texture pack has been downloaded 100 times in just over a day! I'll be working on the item sprites today, and hopefully, they should be done sometime tonight.
