3.42 : 04/12/2014 7:44:41 am4/12/14

Sorry for the lack of updates last week, I was busy.
  • creeper
  • sky color
  • lightmap (follows the inverse square law taking into account gamma correction of monitors)

3.41 : 03/29/2014 8:53:26 am3/29/14

  • farmland
  • wheat growth stages
  • leather hat

  • skeleton

3.39 : 03/16/2014 11:07:09 am3/16/14

  • iron trapdoor
  • dirt
  • removed grass top rounding, it was too glitchy, it may be back when 1.8 is out because I will be able to modify models

3.38 : 03/08/2014 10:29:37 am3/08/14

shader tweaks:

blur uses 20 texture reads per pixel down from 28 in version 3.37

also removed 1 render pass and 1 buffer

FPS is expected to improve noticeably, especially if you have a high resolution monitor and a shit graphics card.

If minecraft ever allows mipmaps and linear sampling in shaders, I could do 16 texture reads on a 4x smaller area and upsample that, making the texture reads per pixel just 4!

  • torchlight lightmap (follows the inverse square law better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse-square_law )
  • stained glass (ctm and glass pane lighting fix coming soon)
  • stone slab pillars

3.37 : 03/01/2014 11:05:12 am3/01/14

  • punctuation in font
  • emerald ore
  • sky color

change in shaders:

bloom is more accurate/realistic, code is much simpler and less hacky.

uses different blurring method that is much more scalable, it makes huge blur radiuses very very efficient.
if minecraft ever allows for mipmaps in shaders, it could be 2x faster
if minecraft ever allows for linear sampling in shaders, it could be another 2x faster

where I got the idea:
http://forum.starling-framework.org/topic/code-much-faster-gaussian-blur-implementation

3.36 : 02/22/2014 8:14:47 am2/22/14

Ive been busy with the new 1.8 models and real life stuff, so I haven’t had much time to work on willpack. Here’s an update anyway.

  • fxaa shader tweaks

If the fxaa shader was laggy for you, I made the notch shader be a faster version of fxaa.

I personally have a hard time telling them apart, and the performance increase is very good.

It reduces texture reads from 289 per pixel to just 36.

It is a really great pack you made. But I have one problem with brightness as during the day I can clearly see in the dungeon. Even with brightness on moody. I think I tried everything. Do you have any clue what could help ?

It's intentionally like that, for complicated reasons, it's for the best trust me.
If you really hate it, go to the mcpatcher/lightmap/ folder in the pack and replace the world0.png file with the "darker cave light.png" file, but it will look uglier imo.

Yes, and I understand if you want people to use that, but optifine is newer and better, and if it's not supported by your pack (which is amazing btw) you should make it optifine compatible.

You recently changed the dirt to lighter brown, and it doesn't look as good as it was. Another thing that you recently changed that i don't like is creeper. The texture is better, but the color is bit too dark i think.

and now that i can comment! :D I have had this problem for a while now:
