3.38 : 03/08/2014 10:29:37 am3/08/14

shader tweaks:

blur uses 20 texture reads per pixel down from 28 in version 3.37

also removed 1 render pass and 1 buffer

FPS is expected to improve noticeably, especially if you have a high resolution monitor and a shit graphics card.

If minecraft ever allows mipmaps and linear sampling in shaders, I could do 16 texture reads on a 4x smaller area and upsample that, making the texture reads per pixel just 4!

  • torchlight lightmap (follows the inverse square law better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse-square_law )
  • stained glass (ctm and glass pane lighting fix coming soon)
  • stone slab pillars

3.37 : 03/01/2014 11:05:12 am3/01/14

  • punctuation in font
  • emerald ore
  • sky color

change in shaders:

bloom is more accurate/realistic, code is much simpler and less hacky.

uses different blurring method that is much more scalable, it makes huge blur radiuses very very efficient.
if minecraft ever allows for mipmaps in shaders, it could be 2x faster
if minecraft ever allows for linear sampling in shaders, it could be another 2x faster

where I got the idea:
http://forum.starling-framework.org/topic/code-much-faster-gaussian-blur-implementation

I personally have a hard time telling them apart, and the performance increase is very good.

you need to use a mod called "mcpatcher" to use this texturepack
you can download it here:

You should ask the creator of optifine to make it work with my texturepack. My pack doesn't work with optifine because optifine has bugs and horrible support for connected textures overall.

Yes i do actually you should make the diamond and iron armer more hardcore  if you know what i mean and also i like how youve done the stained glass but its just got all those industrile type metal lines on it so  you can only use stained glass for industrile builds so please make it a bit more plain so it will work with modern builds and industrile ones but in the whole its realy awesome

More hardcore? I don't know what you mean by that :)
I plan to make stained glass more ornate and fancy in the future, I'll make a biome-specific variant that is more plain and versatile too, that will hopefully make you happy.

you may know hot to do most of this but i will start from the bigging anyway

for windosws7 search %appdata% and click on roaming the go to .minecraft and place it in the rocource pack folder then start up minecraft got to options recource packs and click on the texture pack wich will enable it

Now for windowsxp the only differnt thing is you go to run then put in %appdata% in stead of searching it

Yeah, I have windows 7 - I unfortunately have to do run because when my computer went BLEH and crashed, the app data stopped showing up in my files and I have to use Run.
I put it in the resource pack folder in .minecraft. I open up mc, click options, resource packs, and it isn't in the avaliable resource packs setting.

Hey! This is a wonderful resource pack, I really enjoy the atmosphere you've created here!
I do have a few problems with a few of the textures;   The grass is amazingly beautiful, but I am quite dissappointed the biomes do not change grass colors even a little bit. It'd be nice to have the leaves & grass be the same. (The leaves seem to change colors by biome, but the grass does not)
Also, the stained glass! I am very disappointed in how opaque it is. I have flowers behind stained glass in most of my homes and you can barely see through it. I like the french-window "stained glass" texture, but I honestly think it needs to be more see through.
Item frames could also actually have a little frame (especially when they have an item in them), though the ittle nail-hook when there's no items in the frame is very cute.
Thanks for any and all help, and please keep up the great work.
This is definitely one of the best resource pack out there!

william malo
Level 78
Legendary Creator
July 10, 2014, 4:04 pm

The grass color does change with biomes, it's just subtle.
I know the stained glass is pretty opaque, but I like it that way, I might make alternate textures one day.
For the item frames, they are like this because not having a frame makes them much more versatile for decoration, you can just put any item on any surface. (when minecraft 1.8 comes out, I will add a way to use item frames, but its impossible in 1.7)

Don't let my reply discourage you from giving me feedback, I love feedback, but we just have different oppinions.

The hotbar is beautiful, but its really hard to read. If you are missing hunger/health, you really don't notice it until you can't run anymore/about to die (or is it just me? lol). The hotbar blends too much with the background. Experience bar should stand out more too :D I really don't mean i want something like normal hotbar, just little bit more noticeable.

I was trying to fix my problem with Quartz... and i did! (Optifine Connected Textures need to be turned off)
But i deleted the .minecraft folder and download Minecraft again (to fix the Quartz problem...! -.-)
Logged in and this was all over my screen Image . Before deleting the .minecraft folder, the grass and birch wood were normal, only the Quartz and this were happening. So i fixed one problem.. got two more..

Optifine with mcpatcher doesnt work, and i cant play without Optifine, i really need the fps boost. Help?

Update, 5 hours later: So connected textures need to be turned on to fix the grass, but they break the Quartz.. well problem solved.. (but not really because either way something is broken).

But a few months later i've come back, made an account, tracked down your pack again.. Because iw anted to tell you this is probably the greatest texture pack ever.
Because no matter how many other texture packs i've tried, i never feel content with any of them but yours. No matter which ones i try, i always put it right back on your pack :P

It is absolute fantastic, thank you so much for making this.

The only thing i notice is there's a glitch with Quarts blocks and birch plank items.
But i assume if i redownload it that will be fixed cause i see quarts stuff in your pictures :P

It doesn't support the latest snapshot, simply because mcpatcher doesn't support the latest snapshot yet.
It doesn't lag much, no.
