Bi-Lingual Chatbot

I feel it would be of benefit to the PMC Chatroom, that due to the bilingual community, we could perhaps have a Bot that detects when players speak another language, and thus notifies them in their language that the main chat is preffered English Only (As Mention by many Chat Mods I shall not name (Not one to aim fingers))

By doing this I feel it would assist the flow of chat, making it easier for mods to manage bi-lingual users. and Making it a more friendly interface to all users.

Technically impractical, English only is enforced site-wide as pointed out by Azie, chat doesn't require this feature.

I agree to a point. But at the same time it's a matter of inclusion. We need to extend an Olive Branch of sorts to make this site more friendly to those who speak other languages.

I don't agree with the chat being English only, as the minecraft community is not english only. It seems almost prejudiced. If the idea of a bot messaging is unacceptable, or unpreffered, perhaps we could extend to a bi-lingual chat. Different chat rooms, for other languages.

This community is large and ever growing. It only makes sense to reach for a point of inclusion.

Our whole site is English for a reason and that reason isn't that we don't like other languages. Our website is hosted in a primarily English-speaking country and all our moderators speak English. Some speak other languages, but every single one of us speaks English and that's the easiest language for us to moderate so we can keep the site flaming, profanity, and spam free.

In other areas of the site, other languages can be allowed via the person typing in their native/most comfortable language and then providing an English translation, but in chat that isn't as viable due to how long those messages get very quickly. Private chat rooms are a planned feature, according to Paril, so these would more easily accommodate users who speak the same language that isn't English in an area where they don't need to be as heavily monitored by mods who have to translate every single message just to do their job.

As for your actual suggestion, I don't think it's really necessary. As Pepijn said, most people I've encountered speaking other languages in chat either know English well and are purposefully speaking another language, leave the chat room when they're asked to speak English, or outright refuse to speak English when asked. I don't think a bot would really change any of those things and it wouldn't really be any more effective or convenient than a moderator doing the same thing.

Don't think this is really needed. Most people who fail to talk English in chat can actually understand English and choose to not use it, for the minority of people who join a chat on an English site without being able to understand/speak English there's google translate for the mods to make clear the chat is English only.

I also don't understand "(As Mention by many Chat Mods I shall not name (Not one to aim fingers))". You make it seem like you don't agree with these actions.
