I'm sure some of you awesome people (if you read my profile) know that I love Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. So I thought I'd do a game review.

Gameplay: 8/10
Playing the game is pretty simple. You select your class from a really elaborate class system. For example you could be an Octopode Chaos Knight, High Elf Mage, Troll (trolololol) Berserker, Kobold Hunter, Spriggan Assasin or my personal favorite, Hill Orc Fighter. You spawn inside a deep and scary dungeon filled with monsters such as giant worms, blobs of jelly, evil mushrooms, orcs, gnolls, rats, and sharks. Yes, sharks. You also gather items off the ground, like potions, scrolls, weapons and armor, gold coins, and sometimes corpses of monsters that you have slain. There is also a huge selection of weapons like battleaxes, morningstars, daggers, short swords, cutlasses, falchions, quarterstaffs, crossbows, slingshots, blowguns, and spears.

Battles: 5/10
Battling mobs is pretty simple, just click on the mob you want to kill. When using a ranged weapon, just click on the mob you want to shoot. Battling is not that exciting, your HP goes down, and your opponent's HP goes down. The only real "exciting part" about fighting in this game is the sheer amount of different monsters and minibosses.

Graphics: 4/10

Okay, the graphics kind of suck. There is even an ASCII version of the game (though I highly suggest you to use the tile-based one) But what do you expect from a game that's almost as old as I am (I'm 12)?

Exploring: 9/10
Exploring is probably the best part of the game. Somtimes you find castles filled with orcs, sewers filled with rats and awesome loots, desert temples with mummies guarding giant piles of gold, and a dungeon that's constantly changing. Besides, you pick up a ton of unique items as well.

Game Controls: 7/10
The controls of the game can be annoying when you start out, but there's a lot of tutorials in-game and there are detailed instructions as well. The game allows you almost complete control of what character you pick and what weapon they weild. There is a high score board that extends back to the very first time you played the game, and there is a mob arena-ish thing where you pit computer-controlled monsters against each other, weilding the weapon of your choice. Also, there is a Zot Defence mode where you defend an Orb Of Zot against oncoming waves of monsters.

Overall: 33/50 or 6/10
It's one of the best dungeon crawler games I've played and a really detailed game as well. It's also extrememly addicting. Time has been known to quicken when you play this game, and I know my timey whimey stuff. :) Anyways, good luck slayin' those orcs and try not to starve!
