This is a little story I made up about the creation of Minecraft. I actually wrote a modified version of this story in a book in Minecraft, and it was 18 pages long. Also, the reason why I rarely use the word "he" or "his" in this story, is because Elmmar and Ender are more of an it than a he. Anyway, I think this does a nice job of explaining why certain things happen. Enjoy!

In the beginning, there were only two: Elmmar and Ender. Elmmar was good and wise, but Ender was evil and full of hatred. Elmmar created water, a sign of life and unavoidable death. Ender created lava, a sign of death, and how it destroys things other than just you. Then, Elmmar made the overworld and Ender created the nether. They stayed separate for a while, but then it occured to Elmmar that Ender could be secretly creating an army. But to reach the nether, Elmmar would need to make a portal of some sort. But to do this, Elmmar knew that he had to use lava to make the portal. So, Elmmar was forced to allow lava to come to the overworld. And it did. Elmmar then took water and lava, and combined them into one block. Elmmar named it obsidean. The water was a sign of leaving the overworld, and the lava was a sign of entering the nether. Elmmar went through it and found Ender. Elmmar was horrified. Ender had made a huge army of evil creatures, and a few special creatures Ender called,"Endermen" that Ender made especially to be like himself. This is why Endermen are hurt by water and rain. But then, Elmmar came up with an idea. While in the nether, Elmmar made another portal and went through it. When Elmmar got back to the overworld, Elmmar immediately started work on a new portal to a world Elmmar called,"The End". Elmmar finished making the perimeter of the portal quickly, but needed a way to activate it still. It wasn't as simple as flint and steel, though. Elmmar secretly took trips to the nether to kill Endermen and blazes, both Ender's creations. Elmmar used their remains to finally activate the portal. Elmmar went through the portal, and started to created The End. When Elmmar was done, it looked like a completely barren wasteland; a perfect prison for Ender. Then Elmmar made the Ender Crystals. The Ender Crystals were made to heal Ender, if anything ever hurt him. Why? Because as soon as Elmmar left, Elmmar cursed The End so that the only way to leave would be to kill Ender. Then, Elmmar waited for Ender and Ender's army to come through the portal Elmmar had intentionally built close to Ender's fortress. And eventually, they did. All of the monsters came to the overworld. But Elmmar was extremely powerful. Elmmar defeated most of the monsters, but a few escaped into the overworld, or back into the nether. Finally, Ender and the Endermen came through the portal. Elmmar and Ender fought for a while, but eventually some of the Endermen started to fall into the portal. When Ender saw this, Ender was disgusted with Elmmar even more. But then Ender smiled. Ender said,"You may win this battle, Elmmar, but a few of my minions have escaped to your world. Watch it destroy your world. Watch it corrupt it! Watch your world burn!" Then Ender fell into the portal. Elmmar flew up, in fear of what Ender had said. And it was true. Monsters were sprawled across the overworld. Elmmar gasped and fell to the ground. Then Elmmar transformed into a large, white birch tree atop Mount Albudohr and never moved again. In The End, Ender tried to leave, but quickly figured out all of what Elmmar had done. In anger, Ender transformed himself into a mighty dragon, and called himself,"The Ender Dragon". Ender said,"I don't care if I don't make it out of here. I will never die!" A villager, one of Elmmar's creations saw Elmmar despair. "I must kill Ender, and any of Ender's creations that get in my way." Then suddenly, the large, white birch tree flashed a bright light. Then, the villager was changed. He lost his huge nose, got a blue shirt, pants and hair. His eyes changed and he didn't trade anymore. "Wow!" the Villager said. "I think I'll call myself 'Steve'." The tree almost seemed to nod. "Now, where to start..."

Because of the demand for a part 2, I will give it to you. Here begins the part of Steve's adventure.

Steve swiftly headed back to the village he had come from. "Hey everybody!" he exclaimed. "Look at my new appearance! Isn't it awesome!" The villagers turned their heads. They said,"Heh?" "Hmm." Huh." "What the heck?" Steve thought. "Hello? Larry? Bob? Sharla?" "Hmm..." they all grunted in unison. "Wha-what's happened to me?!" "I'm sorry, Steve. To separate you truly from the others, this was the only way," an echoey voice whispered in his head.  "What was that? Who are you?" Steve asked suspiciously. "I'm a sad old spirit. The being you saw despair, and now the great birch." "Why did you do this?!" Steve shouted. "I just explained that to you," the voice replied calmly. "You can still trade with them, atleast. You said you would help me, and this is the price. Of course, I won't hold you to what you said, since you didn't know the concequences. But right now, you're the only one that can help me." Steve sighed. "Yes, I'll help you." "Thank you. Now, this is your goal..." Elmmar explained to Steve how to get to The End. "So why can't I go through the portal you made to trap Ender?" "When I transformed myself into a tree, it was a sign of surrender to all of the monsters of the worlds. Since the portal was activated from the remains of monsters, a sign of their defeat, the action of surrendering, or of them defeating me undid the portal." "Complicated," Steve said. The voice chuckled. "Yes, very. And the good news is that the nether portal was never undone, since it's just made of elements." "Yeah. So just hop through the portal, kill the blaze, kill the enderman, put the ender pearl and blaze powder together, activate the portal and kick some Ender butt!" "Be careful, though. Blazes can set you on fire, endermen are evasive and Ender... Ender is very, very powerful. Also, I'm not sure Ender has stayed in his regular form." "Not regular form? What would he have transformed into? A black tree?" This time Elmmar laughed really hard. "Oh! Why didn't I create you before?! Anyway, I'm not sure what Ender would have transformed into. Probably something scary and evil. And by the way, Ender is more of an "it" than a "he," although there are a few exceptions. The same goes for me." "Okay," Steve replied. "Well, now I will leave the rest to you, but if you ever need me, just ask for me in your mind. Goodbye for now, Steve." "Bye," Steve said. From here, Steve started to clear out all of the trees (except for the Tree of Elmmar) and built shelter, tools and weapons. Then, Steve started mining. First came coal, then iron, gold and then eventually diamond. Next, Steve built an enchantment table, diamond tools, diamond armor and diamond weapons. After that, Steve finally went through the nether portal. "Oh my goodness!" Steve looked around the lava and fire filled world. A ghast spotted him and shot a fireball at him. Steve dodged it just in time. "Please! Talk to me again!" Steve concentrated. "I'm here. Hmm. You made it to that freak-show of a world. Well, now you need to go to Ender's old fortress. There should still be some blazes." "Okay." Steve replied tentatively. So he walked across the nether and finally found the fortress. "Yes!" he exclaimed. "Now where are the bl-" "STEVE!" Suddenly, a small fireball came flying towards Steve, and hit him. "Oh! It burns!" he cried. Steve then unsheathed his sword and swung at the flaming beast. Quickly, the diamond sword took it out, and the blaze dropped what Steve needed. "Oooooo. It hurts," he weezed. "Good job. You got what you need." "Okay," Steve said clutching his chest. "Don't worry, the pain will go away, as long as you're well fed. Are you?" "No, I'm not hungry," Steve answered. "Good. Now, find the portal again and go back through it. Next, you'll have to defeat an Enderman." So Steve found the purple portal again, and went through it. Once he returned to the overworld, it was night time. "Perfect," Steve said. "You're right. It is perfect. There's an Enderman standing in front of you." "What?!" Slowly Steve started to look up. "NO! DON"T LOOK UP!" But it was too late. The Enderman and Steve locked eyes and it started to chase Steve, making grunting noises. "AH!" Steve screamed. "Listen to me! What you need to do is turn around, and then just face it. Remember though, it can teleport." Steve ran a little longer, then quickly spun around and started hitting the Enderman. Then it teleported. "Darn! Where is i-" "Behing you!" Steve whipped around and swung at it once more, and it was done. "You did it! Now just craft those items into some eyes of enders. Then put them in the portal." Steve started back to his house right away. He put the blaze rod in the crafting table, made some blaze powder and mixed it with the ender pearls. "Eyes of Enders!" Steve exclaimed. He left his house and headed to the end portal. When he found it, Steve put in all of the eye of enders. The inside of the portal turned black and sparkled with blue and white. "Are you ready? I can't talk to you in there. Ender blocks my telepathy." "What?! But I need you!" Steve pleaded. "I'm sorry. I can't control that. You don't need me, though. You can do it. No, I know you can do it! Go now, and defeat Ender!" With a sudden surge of strength, Steve jumped into the portal. He arrived at the prison. It was a yellow wasteland with tall black pillars with crystals on top. Endermen sprawled across the world and a big dragon dove down to greet Steve. "Well, we have a visitor! Steve, isn't it?" the dragon smiled. "H-how did you know my name?" "Elmmar isn't the only one who can do cross-dimensional tricks. See, I have the same limitation that Elmmar does; I can't use telepathy in the dimension Elmmar is in. But when you decided to take a stroll in my world, I could read your identity like a book. I'm surprised Elmmar didn't think of that. Oh well, you're going to die anyway." The dragon swooped low to hit Steve, but Steve dodged. Steve got a chance to swing at Ender. "Ooo! That tickled!" "Oh! The Ender Crystals! I need to take them out, like Elmmar said!" Steve remembered. So Steve pulled out his bow and shot down all of the Ender Crystals. "Grr... Fine! Try and defeat me!" And Steve did. After countless swings and dodges, Steve defeated Ender! "NO!!! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! I AM THE KING OF EVIL!" And then, Ender exploded into nothing and orbs came raining from the sky. "You actually defeated him! This is Elmmar, I can talk to you now. Good job. Now just go through the portal that just appeared." Steve looked around for what Elmmar was talking about. Steve found the portal and jumped through it.

Thanks. I tried to make this story really explain why certain things happen in Minecraft, and make it fit, too.
