The whole rooms shakes as if we're bananas in a blender being made into a milkshake. I squeeze my eyes shut in terror, grasping for something to hold on to with my sweaty hands. The shaking stops after about 30 seconds. In the commotion, I find I've dropped my phone on the floor. I cautiosly open one eye. I open the other and go up to the window. We're flying smoothly upwards now. I can see the other pods. 22 must be loaded now.
I lie on my bed, staring up at the dim yellow light. After a few minutes, I snap back to reality on hearing a loud crash. I scurry to the window. I look out and see pod 22 taking off. You can see dark black smoke billowing out from below it as it blasts off into the air.
I spend hours in our room. After sleeping for about 12 hours, I wake up and realise how bored I will get. I go into my room and start aimlessly rumaging through my bags. I start to make a pile of my most important entertainment items. My laptop, my iPod, my phone, my DS, my DS games, my drawing stuff, films, books, everything I feel I will use on an everyday basis. My parents have plugged the TV in and set up the wii. I get our small collection of wii games and place them in a neat pile next to the TV.
I slowly walk back into my room and look out the window. There are other pods everywhere; either side of us, in front of us, above us, below us and behind us. I look back down at the Earth. Yep. Just as I suspected; all the pods have left Earth. It will only be minutes now before Earth implodes. I stand tense at the window. After about 25 minutes, it happens.
A tear trickles down my cheek as I see our old planet turn into a giant, red exploding fireball. Just like in the movies, except much, much more real. I slap myself hard round the face to stop myself dreaming. Nope. It's real. My eyes are red and brimming with tears. At least I'm alive, I suppose. I wonder what Kepler 22b will be like. I know it will be about the same as Earth. Will the islands be the same? Will the British people have an island to themselves like on Earth? Or will it just be one large landmass? Will there be new elements? What will the climate be like? I'm used to rainy winters and boiling hot horrible summers in Britain... What if it's a tropical jungle? Or a snowy wasteland? So much to worry about!
After approximately 2 years of travelling, 2 birthdays, 2 Easters, 1 Christmas, and however many days, Saturn is becoming extremely close. You can even see the wormhole now. A large black hole, going into nothingness. I wonder what it'll be like going into nothing... We'll probably have Christmas while going into nothing...
I dismiss these thoughts, as they're unnerving me and I'd rather not think about going into nothingness.
