A Creeper Who Wants To Be Human



I never really wanted to be a creeper.


The other creepers I know, they like destroying the playerso�� houses. They enjoy killing the players, making them lose all of their hard earned items.


I very nearly failed CreeperKindergarten because I didno��t want to blow up the simulator player. My parents almost kicked me out of the house when my professor told them that I had refused to take finals.


So I decided that this year, for Halloween, I was going to dress up as a player and see if I could fit in.


I didno��t tell my parents, of course. They would have forbid me from going. I did my costume myself, borrowing a player head from my buddy Reaper and o��borrowingo�� some clothes from the body of a simulator.


I made wooden arms and used wood to make my four legs into two. I looked like a really fat player, but as long as I could pass for human, I didno��t mind.


As the night grew closer and closer I got more and more nervous. What if I was found out? They would kill me and use my ashes to make their explosive TNT for sure. I thought about backing out more than once. My curiosity killed me though, and when the time came for me to leave for the server Halloween party, I left my house in my costume and headed for the spawn.


Doughty was there, as well as a few of the other players that frequented the server. I saw a few people who had run off at the sight of me trying to return a stray cow to a village. I smiled at them, and they actually smiled back. I had passed as human!


I grinned to myself, very happy that I would actually get to spend time with the players and them not be afraid of me!


o��Hey. Are you a new player?o��


I turned around to see Doughty looking at me. I looked around, but he was actually talking to me. I nodded shyly. I had never spoken to a player before. How did they talk?


o��How do you like the server so far?o�� He asked, offering me a pail of milk. I took it carefully in the wooden arms that I had constructed and held it.


o��It looks fun, I guess,o�� I struggled to not prolong the o��so�� sound. They would have figured it out, and killed me.


He smiled at me. o��So what do you like doing the most in Minecraft?o��


I shrugged. o��Adventuring.o��


Doughty nodded and walked off to say hi to a new player that had just joined. I walked around, saying hi to people and making small talk. Nobody even suspected that I was a creeper, and not a player!


That is, until I talked to the server owner, and spilled my milk, causing one of my arms to fall out of place and onto the ground. He looked up at my face, and narrowed his eyes. o��What are you?o��


I panicked. My costume fell off in my hurry to back up, and I was exposed in my normal creeper form to everyone at the party. Somebody screamed, swords were drawn, and I hissed.


Then, everything went black.
