Lots, and lots, of skins out there are really great, but lots, and lots, of people are never heard of. I think the strangest thing about it is that some of the popular skinners out there don't help their fellow newbies.  Also, this isn't a rant or anything like that. Some times the "famous" skinners don't really cheer the people who look up to them on. They just continue getting thousands of views and lots of subscribers. Another thing about famous people is, they all start somehwere, whether they got famous right away, or they worked hard to get where they were, they still tried as best as they could to get where they were to. Taking my experience of skinning, I'm more the type of an intermediate skinner, who gets views, and downloads, but not enough to be "noticed". Well, it isn't all about being noticed, it's just about trying as good as you can to have other people inspired enough to try and make skins too. At least that's what I think it's about.

If you try and be noticed and more popular, you won't get any views or downloads. Well at least not as many as you want.  If you try your hardest to make others happy and inspired by your work, you can get lots of views. I started at first by trying to get views, and I barely got any. I realized later that what I was doing was wrong. It was selfish, and I was rude. I made others unhappy because I abused rules, and finally, I stopped. So remember. It isn't about getting views!
It's about being happy about the hard work you went through, and you've already made so many people happy by doing your best! =)
So keep up the work on skinning, and stay along the line of rules, so you won't make people upset or mad.

OKay, So in my opinion:

I'm have to agree with the Famous skinner part:
These people become popular becuase they helped PMC's people and joined a long time ago.
But they don't really encourage people that much because they don't have the time to do it, but usally if they do it. But I noticed something, they are falling down the popular scale and the people who usally dont  get noticed are going up the scales. But one thing, Every submission counts, the more you post the more views and downloads you will get. This is happening to me. I am going up the scale a bit.
You totally missed something though:
Famous skinners were just like us once, unnoticed, not popular, deperate to be popular. But they kept on trying. They deserve the popularity. They worked hard for it. They are unique in there own way.
But we are all human.
We are all unique in our own ways. I specialize in making skins for my firends even though they don't play Minecraft and completly hate it. But I still do it!

I encourage the newbies. Telling  them to keep up the good work and never give up! I even have my own motto:
"Reach for the stars and you will get there one day"

Here's a message to the people who never get noticed( like me)
Never give up and keep trying!

I also noticed something else too with popular people:
There submissions somewhat equal out with there subcribers

Some of us aren't noticed because we are desperate and jelous, just like Princess Luna in her NIghtmare moon mode(But I don't really watch my little pony)

But this blog put up a good lesson, and your opinion is pretty good I'd say.

I really don't want to continue typing, but you can read more about my opinion on my Mudskipper Blog.

I hope you understand this is MY OPINION! I can express it anytime I want as long as it's not offencesive or mean.Just tell me if this is offencesive/mean and I will edit it to the point where it's not offencesive, and dont toy around with my comment, only say it if you mean it.

Hmmm...a blog that targets "popular skinners". Well I guess you can say we're all a bit full of ourselves if we're going on the defence.
But I'll say my bit.
Skinning skill and popularity takes a while to build up. But in the end, you just keep plodding away (I've kept my bad skins to remind myself from whence I came). I have my own style of shading, I don't try and adapt to others. If I see somone else shade a certain way and I like it, I study their skins and apply a little bit of their style into my style. But in the end, I do it because I like skinning. Since then, I've been praised for how unique my shading and style is.

Like I said before it isn't to go against popular skinners, but to try and make some of the few inactive become more active. It's also to boost the other new skinners to keep on trying. =P
I agree on the last snippet where you take some of their style into yours. I do that too, and I still haven't exactly figured my style out yet, so if you look at my skins on the first page they're all kinda mishmashed. Which mishmashed can be a skinning style too I guess. . .

I really agree to this, althought, in a way, It's sort of, kinda in a way about views downloads, ect... Because it shows that people look at your work, and It encourages you to make more I guess..?

Yeah, it was more about how you shouldn't be upset if you don't get views or downloads, and you should just keep trying, because then it will change your outlook on how it actually should be.

I don't know one 'popular' skinner that is still active within this community who doesn't help others with skinning, giving advice and feedback asked to or not. You say that popular skinners don't reply to messages at all, really? This based off of your own experience alone, because if so then you can't say that.

And I've read the comments below, and you keep saying, "not all skinners don't help out, just lots" Really? So all those blogs, groups and comments I see of skinners helping each other out just don't matter, that there is some invisable, popular, elite skinners who don't do anything but post skins and get on the Reel and they are the majority like you keep saying? I don't see that ever happening. I myself and a bunch of other skinners I know always answer pm's and comments if asked for help.

Also, we can't help if we aren't asked, because we probably don't know you exist if you don't show yourself in the comment section, you can't complain about popular skinners not giving feedback to every single member on this site, which is 1,766,282 members, but a lot of skinners do try our best so for you to say that most of us don't upsets me because I know plenty of people who are on this site spending there time trying to help.

Wow. All these people are upset. xD
Anyway, when I first joined, I PM'd a lot of seperate skinners who had quite a few subscribers, and there were no replies, as said by people, a lot of them are inactive.  I never said they didn't matter either, I'm just trying to improve the already improved popular skinners, by saying that even if there are "level one" people they should try as best as they can too, to reply or answer things. Anyway, my point wasn't to slam popular skinners, it was to tell the skinners who are new to keep trying as best as they can, even though they may not be noticed at first. Because it isn't about being noticed, it's about releasing good quality things. It might have seemed as though I was just ranting, but I wasn't. I was making a  (in my opinion) very good point.
