Diary,

No offense to Vagabond, but I've really missed human interaction...

Ever since Mum died, I've never managed to fill that void; however, Vaggie helped quite a bit after the fire... As a kid, I was always used to having fairly one-sided conversations due to my incessant talking, but being the only human for miles put a great deal of strain on my mental stability. I have my writing, of course-- I feel that jotting down my daily exploits has helped to maintain what's left of my sanity. Those days of constant uphill battles are over, for I have finally found someone that can understand me! Hopefully he'll start speaking up, or we'll be back to square one.

Steve's getting along okay. He's claimed that his arm is pretty sore, but nothing too serious as to impede his journey. He's got me if he needs any protection-- I'm not too shabby with a bow and he'll find out soon enough. The only major problem that consistently plagues me is that of Steve's assailant. What was that thing? I've never seen something move as quickly as it had. Vagabond's still spooked, the poor dear, but he's seemed to calm down a few hours after we made it back home and had a bite to eat. Wheat solves all problems, remember that.

As of midnight, I've completely finished packing all my important belongings: a compass, clock, a few bushels of wheat, a dozen potatoes, and a handful of torches. All that's left to be done is to craft a few tools and we'll be set. I'll admit, I'm pretty excited to depart, due to the fact that I haven't strayed more than a hundred blocks away from the house since Mum's death, and it'll be good to explore the world again. Let's just hope his plans don't involve a 4x5 structure made of obsidian. I've not the capacity to undergo another encounter with one of those ghastly beings... It's too much to even imagine...
