After leaving from my hometown I went to the valley of Darkflow, The sun was starting to rise ontop of the mountain to my right, giving some light to the steep walls of the mountain to my left. I saw a beam of light gleaming off of something in the dark, I put my hand to Shadowspark and announced to the shadows "You cannot hide from me, show yourself or I will introduce you to Windbite and Shadowspark." I waited for three seconds then my grip tightened around Shadowspark when I heard a hearty and grizzly voice shoot out "Not until I be knowin' who ye are... friend 'r foe?" I thought these words then loosened my grip on Shadowspark, reaching both my hands up to my head and pulling back my hood, then promptly saying "I am Shadaan... A Dark Elf from Macraat Clatu'." I waited for a response but instead a stout figure came out from the shadows, dawning a steel helmet with two goat horns, one broken at its shaft, some hide cuffs, kneepads, boots, and shoulder pads, and beneath a flowing white beard some silver breeches. He was a dwarf, of that I was sure. He then said as if dumfounded "Yer from Macraat Clatu'? I won't believe a word of it, all of thems elven's died ages ago, during the bronze era!" I gave out a mischievous chuckle then knelt down to be eye height with him, I didn't even have to confirm where I was from as his beard fell and his mouth went agape and he shouted "Why... I don't believe it! Yer from Macraat Clatu' aftr' all!" He took off his helm and tilted his head forward "I am Twarin Trokna, heir to the throne of Rockfall Mountain." I looked at him with a grimace "You mean that place crawling with orcs?" "Ye', the exact place." A shiver ran up my spine... I knew that if he was the heir to that place he would hold a large grudge against orcs. "Well... I shall be on me way now g'luck on yer journey." as he started walking away, his breeches clanking whenever he stepped I turned and reached out my arm "Wait!" he turned an looked at me, I put down my arm and said "I have no real destination to be heading... maybe I can join you to wherever your going?" He looked at me then gave a hearty chuckle and announced "Well any help 'll be good I s'pose feel free to follow me lad tis' not my decision!" I gave a sly grin and jogged up to his side, he was less than half my hight, but I felt his place in this world was twice mine, as well as his goal. About a ten-day after we met we had been in the midst of Sunkiss forest, quite an appropriate name I would say, as there were small rays of light whisping through the crispy leaves of the many trees, and it shined on the turf we treaded on in such a manner that it seemed like it was kissing the crisp ground with its presence. "Eh ye hear that?" I was suddenly snapped out of my trans by a snap of branches, I leaned down towards his ear and said "Yeah, what do you think that was?" but before he could answer a mass of green and brown came cracking down from a tree ahead of us, letting in a large spot of sunlight, and as It fell I drew both of my blades and shouted out to my newfound companion "ORC!" But he already knew, as he was upon the orc, he didn't even bother drawing his axe from his back, he was beating it down with his fists, I stood there and stared at him, he was relentless, punch after punch, blood started to spill and the sound of bone hitting bone started to sound like stone smashing flesh. I sheathed my blades and walked up to Twarin grabbing his shoulder and saying "I think that is enough." He turned to me then nodded, he slowly stood up but before leaving he gave a firm kick to the orcs stomach, causing it to turn over and drop some sort of scroll. I don't think he noticed as he already started walking away but I told him "Wait Twarin, come here, there is something this orc had." He responded with a glob of saliva to the ground next to him and the statement "Anythin' this filth had is useless to us, leave it t' rot." I looked at him and understood, I picked up the scroll anyway though and as we walked away I started to read what was on it... "It was a map Twarin, but it has some strange marks on it..." He turned and grabbed it from me "Let me see this he- oh my.... Tis map be markin' the town of Blackwood." I didn't understand his disdain but when he explained to me what this trading town meant to this world I knew almost exactly what he was worrying of.... The orcs were going to attack the heart of trade for this world.
