It seems alot of people now are going on and on in the blog posting about "I'm 10 but I is Mature!!!1!!11!" posts, so here is my take on the issue.

AGE

Believe it or not, your age does matter. Let's face it, in the real world to get most jobs your gonna have to be eighteen, if not older depending on your job preference. Why? because all of the EXPERIENCE from school and college had overall made you a more intelligent and skillful human being. What does this have to MineCraft? Alot actually. Good Server owners look for these traits when hunting for staff. Therefore, the age limit is imposed to tell how much education and experience you may have had. While an 10 year old might be in 5th grade, an 16 (this is the most common requirement is see) has completed most of high-school and has much superior mathematics and problem-solving skills. Its a proven fact. Google it.

MATURITY

Now before I get started here, let it be known I am eighteen, and I have seen both sides of this line. Maturity is the measure of how serious someone takes a situation. I will admit, I have seen some young people ACT mature. But there's is the kicker. Acting mature and Being mature are two completely different things. People along the age of 13 are on whats called the "Puberty Line". This line is a very confusing time for most. Admit it or Lie, your hormones are running rampant, which scientifically labels you immature. Why? Because it is during this period your emotions and attitudes about many things change. You could be admin material one day and then the next decide replacing grass with TNT is a good idea (its not). Server owners and team leaders want people past this period. It sounds like I strayed off of the subject, but here the point. Age adds Maturity through Experience.

TIEING IT ALL TOGETHER

Now, hearing all that I hope you see that Age and Maturity ARE connected by that one magical word: Experience. An older person (unless they live under a rock) will always have more experience than you do, and in turn, be more likely to do the job better. Facts are Facts.

Good blog, shows your view on a subject. Granted, there are exceptions to every rule (Except the fundamental laws of nature, but that's not the point). I know adults who are the most immature people you've ever seen in your life, as well as children who could run a nation. Children, especially the "gifted" ones, who somehow ended up with higher than normal intelligence generally mature faster, and can analyze a situation better than someone of a higher age tier.

I partially fit this category myself. We had "age reading levels" when I was back in grade school. I was a college-level reader in 2nd grade. I was and still am the youngest child to be in my grade level (Born right before the cut-off date. If I had been born three days later, I would be a 9th grader currently). All I'm saying is that this isn't as chiseled in stone as the laws of nature. There are, and always will be exceptions to rules.

On a side note, it might JUST be my OCD, but I counted 9 mistakes (Not including any capitalization) Not saying this to prove anything, nor to disprove anything. Just figured I'd share it with you. ^.^

P.S. If you have to inform someone you're a duck, when you don't look or sound like one, you probably aren't. Same applies if you're mature. Someone will be able to tell by the effort you put into an application if you're an exception to the age rule.

Best of luck with future endeavors,

The real truth is: people that are older will be more experienced in most things, not all.
