I just use Preview, the default image opening application on Mac, and use the circle/square shapes with different colors. That's how I made the emblem for ARC86 and ICR47. As for putting them in-game, I made both 47 and 86 on a server for convenience, with a plugin called Maptool. It lets me insert images from the internet into the game. So I upload my pictures then use Maptool to put them in game.
