Some random context
Sooo, Morpheus Road, book one: The light, basically our world or "overworld", book two: The Black, the afterlife, and book three: the blood, basically h311.
Marshall and Cooper had been friends since childhood. Cooper has an older sister named sydney. (Im gonna go all over the place so forgive me) I suppose this is a horror-romance genre. More horror, but definitely some romance.
Marshall had had a crush on Sydney since they were little kids.
Marshall loves drawing, in fact, one of the " antagonists " is one of Marshall's drawings (I'll attempt to add the image)
(Im going off memory since I haven't read it in a while)
After Cooper got involved in drugs, his parents thought it would be best to get away from the city and go to a small town thistle something. (I have a bad memory)
Meanwhile, Marshall is home alone since his dad is on a business trip and his mother died when he was pretty young. (Actually before that, Marshall had a fight with his dad and ended up throwing a golden orb on the wall. Something his mom left him before she died. When it shatters against the wall, he sees blood pouring out of it. He tells his dad, but he doesn't believe him)
(Im probably skipping some things but its 9:00 p.m as of writing this and I haven't read it for a while sadly)
Marshall sees a ghostly white face in his kitchen window, but when he does a double take, all he sees is a grocery bag in the tree. He falls asleep on the couch watching a documentary and hears whispers.

Previously, Marshall had been trying to get in touch with Cooper for I think two days, but his phone kept going to voicemail

(And back to where I was)
When he wakes up, Marshall decides to go see Sydney about Cooper and to try and convince her to go with him to wherever Cooper and the rest of his family went. He convinces her.
(Marshall still has a crush on Sydney but either she doesn't want to admit she likes him too, or she's clueless because she's a jerk to him at first honestly)
(But I'm lazy and I may update this after I read the books again. Knowing me, won't take long after i get a hold of them.)
During the book, they slowly gather clues on what happened to Cooper And that he's dead

Book two is just Cooper's POV of what happened on the first book

Book three, Marshall and Sydney are a couple, the finally take down the main antagonist that I forgot the name of. I believe it was a dead Roman warrior from the B.C times.
