Hello people of Pmc. What makes a person a good person? Is it the things they have done, the choices they have made, or the people they have met? Can a person who has done bad things be a good person? Can you hurt people and still be thought of as good? What is a good person anyway?

A good person is sometimes thought of as kind, helpful, generous, and caring, among other things. A bad person is thought of as rude, thieving, greedy, and untrustworthy.

I am going to describe 2 people, you decide who is good and who is bad.

Man number 1: This is a middle aged man with no job and 2 kids. He had a wife but she cheated on him and left him, and he has been left with nothing but the clothes on his back. His kids live with him, and he cant afford to pay for the things they need. Because of this, the man turns to house robbing. He robs 5 houses, and makes enough money to support his kids for 2 weeks. He robs more and more, until one day he goes to rob a house, and the owner is still there. Left with a choice between being behind bars or taking a life, this man chooses to take a life, and goes back to robbing to support his children.

Man number 2: This is a young man who has recently completed his college education, and lives comfortably in a small apartment. He has the things he needs, and he has plenty of money for entertainment purposes. Everyday on his way to work he passes homeless people who have nothing, and as he passes by he laughs inwardly at their inability to get a job. He always has money on him, and never spends more than he has to. He helps with community work, cleaning up the streets. Once a year, he sends a sixth of 2 months of income to his family who live in a third world country, however other than this he has no contact with them.

Good and bad are incapable of describing a person, as a person can do good things and still be bad, or do bad things and still be good. The only thing that matters is the reason for what they do. If a man kills to protect an innocent, that is neither good nor bad is it? If a man must rob homes in order to give his kids what he needs, is he a bad person, or a good father? I believe that a good person is not made by the choices they make, they are made by how they react to the choices made for them.
