Hello again! It's 9 minutes past 12 o'clock in the morning on April 8th, and I thought to myself, "self, what would be better than to make a blog post to celebrate this happy occurrence!" And thus, I did.
Anyway, here's the deal. I've got quite a few designs for ships in my head, and a free day today, so expect a lot of concept art over the next week or so. Several ships I've already made little doodles, so I just need to expand on those. For actual ships though, I'm postponing construction in favor of my entry to the To The Stars contest, so it'll be some time before I release anything else.
Also, the nation of the Skylords officially declares war on rival Iyecte! After a war meeting in the Skyhold, Admiral Keikij advised DEFCON 1, and Skylords Lysander, Xephos, and Honeydew agreed. The Skylord military has been mobilized, and is at the highest state of readiness. Already, several engagements have occurred, with a group of Iyecte Horizon-class ships destroying the border-patrol ship Skyship Raptor before being beaten back by two Dauntless task forces. In response to the declaration of war by both sides, the 1st Mechanized Division moved 15 Sentinel-class missile cruisers to the border to await the order to launch nuclear missiles at major Iyecte cities, and 50 ships of various classes are currently under construction, with Skylord Brony continuously designing new vessels. Civilians are encouraged to enlist in the Sky military, mainly the Air Navy, and are also highly advised to go to military nuclear fallout shelters in the event of a nuclear strike by Iyecte. Bomb shelters have been constructed in case of air raids, but are also strong enough to survive the explosion of a crashing airship. All Air Navy ships are currently mobilized, and Skylord Army, Air Force, Navy, and Black-Ops are on high alert for incursions by Iyecte. For now, an anxious civilian population awaits when the war will leave the borders and head in either direction, preferably towards the towering spires of Iyecte. While they are reassured by the heavy military presence and the sight of Skybase 1 over the newly rebuilt Mistral City, already social networking sites are flooded with nervous posts from both soldiers and civilians.
To quote Skylord Keikij, "We're in no shape for an extended war right now, but we soon will be. I didn't want war, none of us did, but now that it has become a necessity, we hope to give Iyecte every ounce of hell we can dish out to them!"
