So this is my first attempt at a real blog and my first attempt at a blog contest so this should be interesting!! I am not known as a blogger on PMC but I have tried to find time to write and here is my chance. But you don't care about that so let's get to my Minedea
"What's the Minedea?!"
I believe that although there is many thing in minecraft which are really good, there is always room for improvement. Many people have said things such as:
"Add fish, it would be so much better!"
Or
"Let's make survival more challenging! Lets add thirst!!"
And these aren't bad ideas. But they are not my ideas. Mojang is already planning on putting these, along with some other highly requested features, into future updates. I wanted to come up with something different. I am not here to post a submission that is the same as everyone else's. I have an idea that would add a new sense of wonder, mystery, and interest into the game. My Minedea is.... Ruins.
"But bandit what makes this so different? Don't we already have ruins such as strongholds and such in the game?"
Yes we do and I love coming across strongholds but I always feel a sense of well that wasn't enough. Even with the new update bringing temples and pyramids, I still felt that something was missing. It was that sense of wonder and curiosity. I miss that feeling when I first came across a stronghold or even an abandoned mineshaft. I still haven't found that feeling of, "Wow! What is down here?"
"Okay, okay but can you just tell us what you would add?"
I would add three new types of ruins, for now. Nether ruins (which would spawn in the overworld as well as the nether), Ender ruins, and finally just your regular ancient ruins.these would be different then your nether brick bridges and your obsidian pillars. This would add entire new structures to the game. Ones that could be explored and also pose as a challenge to come out of.
"But who cares about old buildings? How is that a challenge?"
Well two things. First off you could plague the structures with traps but that could get messy. Traps like the ones in jungle temples and pyramids to catch the sleepy gamer off guard. And causing him to lose all of his diamonds. Also adding new hostile mobs into the game. I have a,ways felt the iron golems was under-used (is that even a word?) in minecraft. I have always thought of them as ancient guardians. I would add more uses for golems like these and turn them into the keepers of the ruins. They would be in the final rooms of temples or maybe even just wondering around the area. These would be ancient automatons that would act as a new challenge for the player to face.
"'Bandit, tell us more about what each ruin would be, and what it would look like!"
So these are my plans for what I envision these structures to be:
Ancient Ruins
These would have heavenly feel to them. They would have belonged to the à therians who once lived on the overworld. They would have many things to aid the player throughout its ancient halls of knowledge including a library, a lab, and a church. These would be embedded in mountains scattered across the overworld. Valuable items such as gems and red stone would be scattered in chests throughout these ruins. These would be guarded fiercely by the dubbed "Fallen Angels" ancient beings made of energy and stone. Slow moving but immensely powerful and incredibly tough. They see the player trust passing onto their home as an insult to their people. These ruins would be very rare as they would carry many items to help aid the player in their journey.

Fallen Angels
Other Notes: Incredibly slow moving, will follow you until it kills you or if it is destroyed, turns hostile as soon as you come within 30 blocks of it
Nether Ruins
These ruins would spawn in the overworld. These ruins would be demonic, hellish shrines which would contain one broken nether portal. These would be deep beneath the surface and be extremely rare. It would have the appearance of the nether seeping into the world therefore it would contain mobs that would normally be found in the nether. This would also contain a "Keeper of the Realm" which would appear to be a rock demon which would guard the nether portal in the final room of these ruins. These ruins wouldn't include traps but instead lava parkour and various other fatal challenges.
Nether Ruins
"Keeper of the Realm"
Health: 50
Attack Strength: 2 per melee, 3 per firecharge
Spawn: In the Nether ruins
Drop: 2 Ghast Tears, 1 Fire Charge, 1 Diamond
Other Notes: Throws a fire charge every ten seconds, Slow moving and melees within close quarters
Ender Ruins
This would be a unique ruin. This wouldn't be small ruins but rather turning the entire end into a vast wasteland of collapsed structures. Half buried buildings and statues would turn this flat boring landscape into something pretty amazing! The End has always had lots of potential but as of now it is a colorless landscape with tons of endermen and a dragon. The only reason people go to the End is just to finish the game. There isn't enough diversity. I would also add a new possible boss mob to the end which would be called "The Guardian". This mob would wander through the rubble but only attack the player if an enderman or itself was harmed by the player. I believe these tweaks would reinvent the whole dimension. People would actually want to go to the end for the scenery, not just to get some credits and a dragon egg.
Ender Ruins
The Guardian
Other Notes: The Guardian can teleport like endermen, automatically teleports when hurt. Also he only attacks if you hurt an enderman
In Conclusion
I believe this would add a new feel to minecraft as well as a new mystery, adventure aspect. This would make the game more interesting which would translate into people playing minecraft for longer. For many people that has been the issue. They think that minecraft is getting boring because it is the same sand-box game. Personally I don't think this but I do think that this feature would be a really neat addition to the game.

ITS A SAND BOX GAME
ITS not SUPPOSED to have a POINT
I like this though because it adds more variety.
My only complaint is the guardian's skin feels a bit weak to the others, but still, wonderful job.
