Tom Nook does not deserve a skin. I tell him I DO NOT WANT to upgrade my house. He forces me to buy an upgrade, even though I don't have the money. I mean who does that?! Spread the word : Down With Tom Nook!

Then again, he saves your butt when you very first come in the taxi with Captain. Without him, you wouldn't even have a house. Would you rather be forced to spare a few bells, or be sittin' on the riverbank with no bells to spare?
