In recent updates, Minecraft coders and administrators have added new blocks, foods, and even sweets. However, they decided to make Pumpkin Pie instead of apple pie.
Why Pumpkin and not Apple?:
Before the pumpkin pie was added into the world of Minecraft, pumpkins have been rendered worthless, literally, unless you were building some weird haunted Halloween themed build. :/ Jack'o'lanterns and regular pumpkins were all that could be produced from growing pumpkins as at the time, pumpkins were the only normally found plant other than seeds. Literally, no one, liked the pumpkin, literally, they wanted better farming plants or even something that would give a fairly good use to pumpkins. So along with carrots and potatoes, along came the pumpkin pie.
Why not apple pie?:
Apples have been used for lots in survival, normally, however, just food. In PVP though, players have longed praised thew birth of Gapples, the number one must-have piece of equipment when fighting another online player. In survival, players would only use apples - for gapples. So Mojang figured, why have an apple pie, when players value the gapples so much all apples are saved towards creating them. Thus, in the creation of the pumpkin pie, Mojang's kitchen didn't bother to bring out apple pies, and to keep the pumpkin pie, unique.

However, players have begun to feel the need for scrumptious apple pies, pies are awesome so make as many as you want Mojang. Some people have created mods, and designs, and recipes in crafting tables to create such sweet delights. Such recipes include this rational design:
The design of the pie itself, is very similar to the pumpkin, making it much more rational for this to be ratified in future updates.
However, many players may find contributing 12 wheat to a pie a hassle so instead a commitment of 6 wheat per pie, 3 on top and 3 on the bottom would be perhaps more rational. As well, instead of using several apples, 1 is needed to make a pie, not to mention the other simple ingrediants to create the pie such as sugar, not requiring milk which is a hassle without the company of cows in survival.
So what do you think, pie or no pie?

But jut as TheHipster said, won't pumpkins then become useless again?
I mean of course there could be both Pumpkin and Apple pie, but apples are 10 times easyer to get then Pumpkin's, wich would most likely out match Pumpkins again.
2. Pumpkins are way easier to get than apples, pumpkins you can find in any mountain biome, and once found they are easily farmed, apples can't be farmed, in about 100 trees you will maybe get about 8 apples :P
Lol, but I like the idea of pumpkin apple pie :D
(IDK why I accidentally put pumpkin. Whoops.)
